Door handles - Harrison
I'm slowly sorting out the brightwork on my car in readiness for paint/upholstery. One thing that has always bugged me is the 90s style Ford Laser door handles, below. Not adding much value to the car as you can see.
What alternatives have Harrison owners gone for? Europa Spares have some nice chrome levers and rotary remote door controls but I'm hoping someone has already done the hard work here. http://cdn.carsrus.com.au/media/cata...KA-80150-0.jpg |
I used BA Falcon handles...

They look great Wazza but I'm going for a 60s period look with mine.

I have these in the brushed finish which I will use when I redo my door trims.. They also come in black and polished. Being alloy you could annodise in any shade that you wanted.

Not a harrison but I've got a bit of stainless cable strung across the door pocket. Grab the cable and pull and the door pops open. I'll get a leather sleve sewn up for it when I get the interior trimmed.

I used these from Snakebite: Classic Door Handles (pair) [HAD02] - $48.00 : Snake Bite: Cobra Parts & Accessories for your AC Cobra 427, Cobra Kit, Ford/Shelby Cobra, Cobra Replica, Cobra Kit Car They came in a kit with the ferrules to fit in the door, the shaft and the lever to sit inside the door that joins to the latch. I put them at the front of the door and linked them to the latch with some 3mm rod. You can just see them in this photo. I used the same Classic Handles as Geoff but installed them in the back top corner of the door. They were a little tricky to get working right but once in they were simple to operate and made opening the doors from the outside very easy.
