Seriously ....... headrests are on the car for Rego purposes only. Particularly with a period correct type of build like a Kirkham. A bit like the padded dash that we all have to put on our cars for Rego (is this still the case?). I registered mine with mx5 seats & a padded dash...
If you legitimately wanted headrests then you would get some nicer seats with a built in headrest.

Seriously!!!, maybe he expected something that's better quality then the P.O.S that he received. I wouldn't have thought it's too much too ask that something resembles a finished product especially when you paid in advance for it.

Towmaster
So what you are saying- AP assumes I am going to remove my headrests and throw them in the bin after rego, so no point spending time and money on them?
Not after a debate on my car specifically on brads thread use my thread for that I just wanted to know if everyone got the same POC or is there more to them?

As you guys have said, let's keep this thread open to the Absolute Pace build. I'm sure Craig is wishing he hadn't wasted his time on the Polish replicas.

Pity there's no 'dislike' button.
If you had a bad experience with AP, then why don't you sort it out off-line and keep on-topic with the build thread.

I actually thought our head rests and seat design/manufacture was world class:
* Pulse TIG Welded Aluminium Seat Frame
* Zinc plated shear plates for seat mounting/sliders
* Zinc plated shear plates with welded threaded inserts
* Fully Sprung Rubber Diaphragm/Trampoline Seat Base
* Headrest Frame is polished stainless tube with Pulse TIG welded stainless mount plates. Has adjustable height mounting.
* Headrest Pads are CNC cut timber with steel threaded inserts. Timber so the trimmer can staple into them. If worried about water or moisture they can be sealed with a coating.
* Seat/Headrest are computer designed and tested.
* Both Seat, Headrests and Sliders comply with latest ADR 3/03 & ADR 22/0.
Just keep in mind you need to meet the minimum height requirements for current ADR's. So that is why the head rest is egg shaped, it meets height requirements but still keep the seats looking like original seats.
Trimming wise you have two options:
* Trim the head rests as seen in the photo and then the trimming runs a leather cover piece over the rear to head the staples etc. Then get the polished stainless frames a final clean up and leave them exposed.
* We have nicely shaped molded plastic cover plates coming(prototypes have been made now) that cover the staples etc and also most of the stainless frame. Production car look. These will be supplied free of charge to all headrest customers.
And they are supplied standard with our PACE 427 Finishing Kit even with drivers side seat slider.
Our Kirkham product uses a fully compliant steel frame seat with the same headrest design as above.
So can someone please explain how these could be improved??? Or why they are poor quality? When we have visitors to the factory, we can't wait to show them off with all the other world class parts we produce for our kits.

It is rubbish about "do not answer list". We answer as many calls and emails as we can. I did not see the feedback about the headrests. Ironically email wise I have sent nearly weekly emails to Lexluther about other matters and another today. This headrest issue has not been mentioned, hopefully the above post helps clarify how they work.
Damage, your posts are just so far off base it is laughable. But I am not laughing, far from it.

Also the headrest is removable virtually without any trace as it bolts onto the rear of the seat.
The headrests can be removed for shows etc, but the seats are not compliant without the headrests fitted. Plus it is significantly less safe to drive without them, so not recommended.

Washer Bottle
Hi Don and Guye
The washer bottle is being filled today so the auto electrician can wire the car and get all the little things working
The car is going to be started wiring Wednesday.
The exhaust are being Ceramic coated and i should be picking them up on the 21 st May.
As for the headrests they are at the upholsterer as are the seats .
Why do some people bag the Absolute Pace Business and products when realistically if you are not happy with your product then go and complain to the Manufacturer and not his agent.
I am just sick of all the CHILDISH and PETTY CRAP that some grown men go on with.
I know i will get bagged for this comment but that is how I feel.
Cheers
Brad
Cheers
Brad

They've just released pictures of a seat that is specifically designed for certain new Kirkham owners
Back to your thread Brad...

Credit where credit is due, Wazza that is a crack up you truly are a comedian sorry that I insinuated that Towy had stolen your thunder. I'll look forward to when you are awarded that tool of the year trophy that you invented just for me.
Brad,
I'll answer your question because clearly its geared at me and my posts.
I feel you've missed the point, the complaint is not with the Kirkham's Cars. Kirkhams cars, service, build quality and after sales service to date has not been an issue.
The complaint (***** baby cry whatever you would term it as) is specifically with Absolute Pace, his workmanship on the supplied headrests for Lexluther as the photo and comments depict would be fairly clear on this. Lex has absolutely every right to question the quality of product the way he has. If you are told that you are being sold a product that is "World Class" then it should be complete (my opinion anyway).
Craig can dress things up and sugar coat them anyway he sees fit that's his choice, what you cant sugar coat is his total disregard for reasonable time frames for delivery of product especially when he is paid in advance. How can he also deny that the products he sells are short on parts or finishing items when he just simply hasn't supplied them or honored his commitment to provide them in the time frames he quotes.
One would have to question how it is that so many Kirkham clients of Craig's are liars when it comes to non return of phone calls and nil response to emails. The common denominator to these complaints is not the Kirkham owners but Craig and his operations.
Now I will leave you to your build thread and let things get back on subject.

As to the headrests and seats in question. Are we really nitpicking over the lack of rear cover/exposed staples? Where a leather or plastic cover fixes this and is simply to fit. In a perfect world we would have liked to supply plastic rear covers for all headrests from day one.
Keep in mind the plastic rear headrest covers were never spec'd, promised or paid for in the Kirkham or PACE 427 kits. But will be provided free of charge retrospectively to all owners.
We are a small business with limited resources doing the best we can with new products. Some owners here are the first owners of these kits from us. And we work with them and support our product to the best of our ability. Non-return of phone calls and nil response to emails, not true, we are not perfect, but answer on average hundreds of emails and dozens of phone calls each day. We need to prioritise our efforts as there are very minimal margins in these products and I do this for the love of it. Why else would I work the hours that I do.
So who has paid in advance? There are still payments owing on the work performed which is fair as some of the requested work is not complete. We take progress payments and deposits.
If you are talking about yourself, well you never paid in full for the work performed on your car. You got far more than you paid for.
We have lost money on every Kirkham sold, so do our best to support the owners and the product with the resources we can afford.
We have lost money on every PACE 427 delivered so far as well. We are talking dozens of cars.
I wish there was profit there to finance and provide additional staff for better support, but we do our best with what we have.
We already have far better systems, processes and documentation in place than other manufacturers that have been doing this for many, many years.
And having to spend time responding to these comments takes me away from serving our customers.

Your last invoice was paid. If you have enough time to write here I'm sure you would have written directly about what you claim is owed if that was actually the case, which it isn't and you and I both know that.
