Congrats - on both fronts! Great to see another Cobra on the road with Shelby's first choice of engine.

Thanks Darrell,

Wedding ended up being a great day and went off without a hitch. Much smoother than the process at the RTA.

I nearly cracked it when the guy behind the counter told me he couldn't go any further because the Blue slip guy put "1CV Cobra" rather than just "ICV" (he seriously wanted to argue that the "I" looked like a "1"), and there was no "1CV Cobra" make and model designation in their system. "I dont care what you bloody call it, I've been at this for 7 years, Im getting married tomorrow, and Im at breaking point....just put it through". It took nearly an hour with all his hold ups (not happy with some of my receipts - ebay\paypal not valid, system was down and couldn't look at engineers report, one page after another on the computer screen that he went "uh oh" to and called the manager to look at.

The manager was actually fine and every time there was a problem she came and fixed it without fuss. Anyway at 5:10pm I was out of there with my plates firmly tucked under the arm.

Big tip - keep every receipt (just dont add them up), and photocopy them as the thermal printed ones will fade.

Havent stopped grinning for many reasons all weekend.

What is actually needed with the receipts? Is it just major components they want receipts for or everything? I have made a lot of parts for mine and not necessarily kept all receipts for steel, paint etc. I also have no receipt for some parts.

I will be asking where in any standard does it specify receipts must be maintained.

Did you also have an inspection? or was this just the regular motor registry?

Liam - it was primarily to establish a value for stamp duty I believe. Just a regular RTA.

There is a guide to the application for VIN, but it is worded disasterously, and I ended up contacting the minister's office over Andrew's VIN application.

If anyone wants a copy I'll email it; but I'll need you to send me your email address.

About time Andrew. Congratulations firstly on receiving the plates and secondly on the marriage in that order. I know exactly how you feel.

Congratulations on both counts.

By the way, I'd take a 1CV Cobra over a 2CV Citroen any day!
