Honda Jazz Power steering upgrade

Mike I've got a 2011 GTI with the electric rack and I agree it's a little vague around the centre but otherwise I find it works really well, nicely weighted and good feedback. Maybe it's calibrated differently on the GTI?

The steering feel/weight is fine when you are turning it's just that deadness in the middle I don't like. You either just leave it and let it do it's thing or you are forever making corrections. Ours is an 07 model and the tech was still fairly new. It's probably come along in the following year models.

If you guys want the meaning of Vague and Light steering then try the " Ram Assist " power steering thats in the 66 Mustang I just bought....

Hi All.
Thank you all for your response to my question. There seems to be a fair debate on, to have P.S or not to have P.S.

I think its an interesting concept, but I think, not for me. I will stick to my old 1970's technology Jag steering since I have spent considerable time and developement in bringing it into the 21st Century, making it race car direct and a pleasure to drive. Some of you might not like it but its perfect for me.

I must apologise for not knowing the rules to posting on this forum. I did not realise that there is a minimum number of posts that you must have before you can speak your mind. Thank you to the senior member for pointing this out to me. Perhaps the administrator/moderator could advise me on the minimum.

Apologies for the use of the word ‘knucklehead’. I was being polite – the more correct description was barking, arrogant, rude and insulting.
I am more than happy to have a discussion about my car and listen to ideas and opinions when they are presented in a polite fashion and not forced upon me. There are ways of approaching people.
