Mando you should get out more. There was a Pace 427 body and other items on display at the nationals last year. Bernies brushed alloy Kirkham was there and at the Selbyfest this year so there is a lot to drool over in the flesh.

That body is a beautiful thing, I wish I had just a little more cash so I could put my name on the list.

Darryl,
Now that you've finalised some of the build specs, how about an update about what it might look like. Don't be shy, we want all the details!

Haha, yep no doubt about that!

What will the spec sheet look like?

Coyote? LS? FE?
Side pipes or under car?
Roll bar or hoop or dual hoops?
Stripes?

d448y2

I am driving my Cobra up to see Craig next week from SA - as it is over there now..

So it should be like turning the heater on - as I get closer it will be warmer.

Whoaa the body and the chassis look great. I kept telling Craig to get things moving and get cars built - I now know what he has been doing there late each night..

Here’s the base out line for my PACE 427 build
PACE 427 Comprehensive Kit
Gelcoat finished in Aqua Blue
351 EFI Windsor
TKO600 Gearbox
17” Wheels
348mm Brembo Brakes
Twin Roll Bars
Mounting points for race harness
Stripes, for Sure!!! Colour Undecided, Most likely off White or Silver
Under car exhaust and Sidepipes just for Track Days : )
Quick Jacks
Interior will be clean and simple with a Comp style dash layout.
No Radio, No Hi Tech Stuff, just seats, dash and steering wheel.
I’m taking the less is more approach to this build, hopefully it pays off : )

Once the build starts I will start a build thread.

Great combination! I like your KISS theory for the interior, and the specs for the rest look fantastic.

I can't wait to see a few of these hitting the road.

This is great Darryl, very impressive.

I was up in Qld 2 months ago when Craig had just moved into new factory and was very impressed when I dropped in for a visit.

And now someone local (well Melbourne based anyway) has taken the plunge I can get another closer look sometime. Even lend a hand if you need.

I hope to be starting my kit next year, so by then there will no doubt be a few Pace cars around!

Anyway, look forward to watching and discussing your progress.

Regards,

Mando, you're welcome. I agree that the quality and finish of the Pace body is way better than anything I've seen from the competitors....that's actually one of the reasons that convinced me to go with Pace.

But, I own a bodyshop and after having painted one customer's DRB Cobra, I want to paint more of them, including mine. Therefore, I do need a rolling, live example of what a Paintwerks quality finish is like for my prospective customers to see (well, that's how I justfied the kit purchase to the Minister of Finance! )

Guy, that's my chassis in the photos (I'm #3 in the production list behind Brad). I know you're going to see Darry's kit, but FWIW, I'm Melbourne-based (Moorabbin) too and my Pace 427SC kit should be turning up soon (can't say when as I don't actually have a delivery date), but you're very welcome to come and have a look at it if you like (when I get it).

Maybe we can start a VicPace splinter group

I could contact Vic based PACE 427 owners and see if they are interested in forming a group and pass on contact details if someone down there wants to co-ordinate things. Along the lines of Classic Revival B Team...

Craig,

The B Club is almost Australia wide.

We have members in NSW, Vic, Alice Springs, SA and Mildura.

And honestly, to any builders of any kit.
Forming a group of people doing the same thing is a great thing.
Plenty of idea swapping, bulk purchase on one of pars made etc etc.

With the plus point of having the opportunity to meet some great like minded people you can call mates.

Classic stuff, a car club being formed prior to any cars being delivered!

Sounds good, we certainly have enough future PACE 427 owners to support it as I have just sold chassis number 17.

Sambo, just haven't delivered any VIC cars yet. Paintwerks is the first VIC car.

We have a happy owner here today assembling his PACE 427 that I am sure will post all about it.

Unfortunately only a fraction of our buyers post on here, hopefully that will change.
