The kit supplier should be your best advice here...
Mostly depends on the motor you're using these days, if a donor motor is used it will need its loom and computer etc "Painless" do custom wiring looms for such things "Sideshow" on this forum is the man Peter "Chunky" Hancock is very good -- but only does show quality stuff :) That said, if you're handy at electrical stuff then go for it, just remember that a little knowledge in this is dangerous, then you will need one of the guys above to untangle the bugs 2c |
I have just picked up my python cobra, it was fuel injected, but now runs a carb with cats, apparently it is legal as the chassis date is 1997 but only just by the skin of its teeth it is around 325hp at the rear wheels, let me tell you after having a 270kw ss, the cobra would eat it for breakfast, but certainly no traction aids, abs, or any of the other jargin, you have to have a healthy dose of respect for the car.

what ever motor u choose best to keep it looking std and sounding std then
get it registered then strip it down and rebuild it with go fast bits the more mellow and std u can keep your car looking will make it much easier when it comes to rego and if u want the carby loom down the track just remove the efi inlet manifold and fit a carby type manifold and just disconnect injectors and turn off the error codes in the ecu on the gm lsx motors its easy to run ecu for rest of motor and carby ontop but do your research as if u wnt to go this way u can run an ls1 ecu on a later motor and run a cable throttlebody and not have to worry about fly by wire |
Thanks

How do these fibreglass bodies stand up to cracking over the years
|
no cracks or flex marks on mine, 13 years old, but it has only done 6700klm so
far, i have added about 10% to that in the last week! |
Has anyone built a factory five cobra in Australia ?
|
I think there are a few -- and the price is enticing -- you'd be better off with a local kit from the ADR certs point of view
