Pinarellos are essentially the Ferrari of cycling, so you'll be going from a Holden to a F430

Ps:11 speeds are overated.
...and a heads up: those yellow brake pads look like swiss stops.
They'll run you $50 if you can get them at a discount.

Thanks mate for the cheery but I believe accurate observation on those brake pads. As I said the guy wanted good gear.

Anyway I'll see how I go down at PMC tomorrow with the bike tuning and feedback any good tips.

Very nice bike Slowy. I was pedalling up Collins street in the city and chatting to a bloke on one. I didn't know what it was I just remembered the distinctive shaped forks and rear stays.

You're in good hands at Port Melb cycles.

As for a tip, I'll give you a couple.

1) Looks like your fork has plenty of spacer length, which is good.
Don't be in a hurry to cut it too short. Your back and neck will hate you.

2) ...and this is contrary to expert opinion:
Don't get too carried away with the exact angles of hip flex, knee bend and seat height etc. Truth is, the varring chamois thickness of your bibs, or non-symmetrical body lengths, will ruin all those calculations anyway.
Just get to a place, where YOU are comfortable, and your pedal stroke is like a couple of pistons, straight up and down in a straight plane on both sides, with no hip rocking. This will get you 99% of the way there.

3) take your cleats and enjoy

Thanks Dimis

Jarrod at PMC did the tweaking and I got a lot of good info from the session.

I am probably on a frame a size or too large but there is enough adjustment to get a fit that should work. A danger of buying without a great depth of riding knowledge, however the bike should work ok for my fit.

Right side compromised by my Achilles injury and stretching tests showed I am horribly "tight" for cycling flexibility needs. That can be fixed though with perseverance.

But this also manifested a slight right knee outward flex so he's minimised this with cleat position and brought the saddle forward about 15mm.

Thought the rest of the riding posture as pretty good so it's now just time to ride the wheels off the bike I guess.

We will see!
