Na mate all good. Thanks for the offer. Unless of course you have some fresh Sunoco 116oct leaded race fuel under work bench! I need about 20 litres to get me through 5 laps.

Hi Matt

Thanks for your time - it was good to have a chat with you in the limited time I had. Your car is a beast - looks like a lot of fun!

I took some pics and video, but my iPhone does not do them justice compared to the link you posted! Once I get near a PC I will upload them anyway...

I have heaps of pics of the Absolute Pace already - but I still could not resist another 20!

We do not see too many Cobras down my way, so it was a great sight... The dream is well alive...!

Tony

I agree.

I was there on Sunday, great weather and the range of cars was awesome. Cobras and GT40 put on a good show and are popular with the crowd as well. Some great racing in all classes and sometime between cars that you would not expect.

Cars on show presented some great viewing and I am sure many photos opps.

Its a good day/weekend for any that are considering about attending next year.

Default 2014?

HUGE effort to both LJ for coming up from Vico and to Mick for driving his cobra down from Bundy!

Considering the picture perfect weather on Saturday and Sunday it makes me curious for such a big event in both racing and waxing why we don't get more cobra/GT40 locals coming along.... Was it too cold? Where were they? What more prefect an event to display your cars.... They even had an Expresso machine working all day next to the S&S area so no excuses for the cafe' set not attending!

All up I think there were about 15 cobras +/- and 3 GT40's on track plus 3 more cobras and 2 GT40's in the S&S. Plus Chris's Lola and Tims Poooorsch on track.

It was a great weekend of motorsport with genuine door to door racing and great weather. (Not including Friday)

Not sure why a premium event that caters for both the waxers and racers we only get 3 cobras turn up on the Sunday for the show and shine and 2 GT40's. I think the BMW club had 25 cars in their group alone. Perfect weather, heaps to see and do and great atmosphere to see what the Cobra/GT40 guys can do on track.

I understand next year we will be able to get back into the concrete sheds and I'm sure next year will be even bigger .... It would be really great to see some more genuine interclub cobra/gt40 participation considering the size of the event and its TV advertising etc...

Dunno why the interclub stuff never happens...!

Anyhoo, I was happy...it was the first time in 4 attempts I managed to make it to Sunday afternoon....

I know the caption should read.....

"Leading the Superformance and DRB out of turn X"

But in reality its......

"Holding up the Superformance and DRB out of turn X"

I remember coming back into the garages and telling you that you were on fire.... NO really.... Your car was on fire!!

Trying to restart after the afore mentioned spin (to take the photo) and then trying to restart the car resulted in the little fire ball that engulfed the rear passengers wheel of the 'red racer'.

At the time I thought 'Wazzas gunna have to do the dance of the 'help me Tom Cruise'' to get out of this one.... Luckily the car started and blew out the flames....

I remember that ...

Got a big head for a few seconds...

Ash telling me I was "On Fire"...and I thought that I had just clocked some decent lap times, so took it as a big compliment...

Then I realized....Oh...ACTUALLY on fire.

It's true...what you don't know wont hurt you....

Unless it's FIRE !!!

Cheers,
Warren

Lol - friggin iPhone! as the shutter button on an iPhone is supposed to be on the bottom when you take a landscape shot - go figure!

I used a photo editor to flip them all, And even when I uploaded them to clubcobra on the PC they looked fine.

Now on the iPad they are upside down! Grrrrr

FWIW - Lock screen on the iPad is the switch above the volume rocker if it is not set to activate 'mute' in the settings
