Just for the record I am the fabricator who did all the work on both the bdm cars, my front and rear ends ect ect. AND i was actually driving Garry Hall's black cobra when the alleged "fume chocking" took place... as it was during the passenger laps and it was the 1st time i had driven the car (and might add got nowhere near full throttle as we had already been shut down for exceeding the decibel limit) during the very short roll on drag races i had with the "mongrel" black cobra. yet still at no stage did the "mongrel" pass me under power, only ever after i backed off or he got on the power early! but hey my word doesn't mean much, but the fact that the 2 bdm cars placed 1st & 2nd at the cobra nationals and the shannons 2 days of thunder, last week Geoff Taunton ran a 56.8 on the clubman circuit at qr, last year both cars went 1.03 around wakefeild park, this year we hope to go quicker again with completely new front ends I would think says a lot???

If ANY "black" cobra believes they are faster I am sure both Geoff and Garry would love a grudge match style challenge!

NUFSAID!

Heard another story about the Bathurst event.. By a friend who was there for the Australian hill climb championships.. Apparently the Mongrel must be pretty hot, as the driver was wearing a 'cool suit' for the 60 second sprint from halfway up mountain strait to McPhillamy Park.

I was wearing a Cool Suit the other day. Pin striped with Flared trousers and big lapels. Nearly twisted my ankle with the platform shoes though.

Didn't have a violin case packed with a little 'heat' to compliment the suit Mike ?

Cheers
Chris

Leyburn is run and done -- the worlds fastest black cobra came in 5th outright --which is a pretty good effort - actually Classification

And the worlds most famous red cobra came in 36th from 190

A bumper event, near perfect weather -a great week end !
