2013 Cobra Nationals QLD Attendees
Just a prompt to all QLD Members that the Nats is on again this year on the 4th, 5th and 6th of October and we are looking to rally as many old and new members to come along for this years event.
I believe like 2009,2010,2011 that we are able to join in the Thursdays "Speed off the Streets" Day so we get maximum track time and practise for those that want it.
Wakefield Park Raceway
To find out more make sure you are at the next QLD Club Breaky on the 14th July.

Sure why not.......
I am, however, a realist.......
There is a certain 'Bunnings Green' Cobra that has recently had a horsepower injection and a certain 'Old Gold' Cobra up these parts that is a 'twin' of mine (or the other way round) that is also getting a very angry 6 litre Windsor transplant....
Not to mention all the other contenders....
All it takes is 1 mistake to ruin your day......
Seriously now..... It's all about the camaraderie really, isn't it?

Also, being a topic relating to a motorsport event...there's a strong push by the owners of motorsport venues up here (and around the country for that matter) for people to incorporate the use of a HANS device or equivalent /neck restraint when participating in motorsport events. This has come about from a series of bad/fatal accidents that have occurred where the use of this piece of equipment may have helped prevent the outcome.
Remember that if you do opt to use this safety device as part of your safety quiver that the anchors (the part that attaches the device to your helmet) is secured A. to a helmet compatible and compliant with HANS usage and B. the anchors are installed as per CAMS specification.
I've had a few people ring me about this so please check with your local race equipment shop that your helmet and its anchors are OK and installed correctly.
A lot of guys are beginning to use these up here. I for one highly recommend their use.

Fair call Spook, but I think a push for competitors to be fitting a harness and the lifting the standard of roll over protection should probably come first in our case.

Nats
Just an update for all those attending that rooms at the various hotels have now been reserved until 1st September, 2013.
Those individuals attending must ring and book before then. After that date, the rooms will be back on the general market. (and you'll miss out)
Ron will be sending out an email shortly to update hotel contact info so as you can allocate your room held with your credit card. All those who have registered interest please ensure you're on Rons Nats list to be certain you are in the communication loop.
Booking is being done differently this year so don't leave it to others to confirm your room. Its up to you!

~600 hp at the wheels from a Coyote vvt supercharged motor, 6 speed trans--- a magic car to drive - mild mannered around the car park and a weapon on the track -- the guardsman blue and wimbledon white is just perfect.
The body is all carbon fibre
Sadly its not going to the CC nats this year --its just too slow
Apparently Luffy took it for a spin with the road tyres on and was 4 secs a lap slower than the super V8s.
It is the sister car to Gary Walthers (or new owners ) car

Chris is this the mamba project they've been building on the drb Facebook page?
Who's the lucky owner?
I bet luffy could get quite a few cobras close to v8 sc times.... But would the owners let him!!!! Hahaha
I saw a well known ford v8sc driver hanging out at AP last week too! Words getting out!
