I had a dodgy injector connection on my L98 that didn't pulse correctly and it failed the IM240 the first time due to running rich on the other 7 cylinders. It pays to get your tune checked, cats/MAF in the right spot, 5 gas analyser, etc, before plonking down your $750 for the test. Craig has probably worked all of that out for you but it was a bit of a nightmare for me 18 months ago, for other people who may be reading this.
Hi Sambo,

Don't want to hijack a thread, but where is good for a 5 gas analyser? Any recommendations?

Mate, give Erol a call at EFI Dynamics in Lilydale. You get a dyno figure too

Cool Darryl! I went with the 3.7 LSD with shot-peened gearset in mine. IIRC, I believe my Clubsport R8 also has a 3.7 in it too.

d4 / Simon - what engine/trans are you each going with?

Tony, I don't want to hijack Darryl's thread and given that my Pace 427SC should be delivered within the next 4 or so weeks, I should probably start my own build thread....

But, to answer your question, I'm going with a Tremec TKO600 5 speed and a new LS3 6.2 crate motor. I already have a new WS427 flywheel and clutch kit. I'm not sure if I'm going with the 430, 480 or GMPP 525hp versions of the LS3 though. I'd prefer the latter but depends if this particular motor will pass the emissions test or not. Anyone know?

I may have to go for the standard 430hp variant and drop in a cam later on. But I think 430hp in a 980kg car will be more than adequate as a starting point

I'm looking at a 351 EFI Windsor and a TKO600. I still haven't decided if I will get a crate motor or get one re-built.

Nice combo - A Clubsport motor in something as heavy as a 2 door Barina should 'just' be enough power!!

Thanks d4 - the TKO600 looks like a popular choice.

Will the 351 be a bit harder to rego, or will the EFI help sort that out?

Was the LSD an upgrade option?

Cheers

Tony
