Default 20th Cobra Nationals

The entry forms and Supplementary Regulations are now up on the NSW Cobra web site.

Entry Forms and Supplementary Regulations

It is important for us to receive all entries by 16 September as the Club needs to establish where we are at by our next meeting on 17 September.

I hear there's some concern over numbers again this year?

The Qld Club has about the same general numbers but some different faces.

First time since jeezers wore sandles ozvenoms not coming! Broken engine and work commitments etc. still room in the back of the ute Scotty to come with me.

And mark crespans highly debated "Qld fastest black cobra (?)" is again not throwing itself into the ring of cars its (as yet untested) quicker than.

We've got 3 gt40, 1 Lola and about 18 cobras and a semi load of absolute pace goodies coming.

Can't wait.

A LOLA from QLD? At this rate they'll get their own class . There was one running round Wakefield at the NSW championships, maybe he'll turn up at the Nationals as well? Now back to the car.......

Still yet to go for a spin in my chariot.
The motor is in and running, but there are a few jobs to do like tidying up the bonnet where I hacked a hole to fit the new intake.
The extra cubes have tamed the cam in it but I have it on good authority that it will go alright

Just sent off my Entry tonight. Can hardly wait.

This will be my second Nationals.

Had a ball last year.

For those of you who havent been to Nationals yet I would highly recommend it.

You get put into a group of similar timed driver/car combos so you dont have to stress over getting in peoples way and it is not stressful on your ride.

The social part is just as great too.

See you there

cheers Gregg

P.S. Got myself a driving suit this year for my birthday so at least I'll look the part :-)

It's great to see that the numbers from the QLD contingent haven't dropped from last year. A shame though that QLD's fastest black Cobra can't make it...
With the increased cost of running the event, the Club is certainly keen to see some strong entry numbers this year.
We will be double entering our car again this year so Mads can show me how fast our car can actually run...

This is my first Nationals and I am really looking forward to it. Have started preparing the car and it should be just about perfect by the first weekend in October. I have a new helmet and fire extinguisher which I fitted today. I also pulled the heat shields off my side pipes and gave them a good polish and leatheriqued the trim. Have to leave it a few days before I buff it up. I also experimented in packing the boot to see what I could get in and what I have to leave at home and I think I have that sorted out too. Please.. No Rain...

Default Thursday on!

If you're not in the know WP usually (except last year) put on a Speed Off The Streets event the THURSDAY before the Nats for all comers.

The Qlder's are usually keen on this as it helps to make the week away a little more viable with extra track time (nothing to do with getting practice to beat everyone else) and the Thursday is ALWAYS SUNNY!

If you're making a big trip or feel like some practice make sure you come. 1/2 day is also available.

Wakefield Park Raceway

* I thought this was a worthy bump. Looks like there will be more QLDer's attending than NSW this year!

Hey Spook,
I'm not sure of this.....
But....
I think you might find that the Thursday "open day" is not on this year, and there will be a few "others" having sessions on the track on the Friday.

The cost of hiring the track is VERY high....(try about $9,000-00 per DAY)....
and I think that by making space for some of the public on the Friday will make ends meet.
Im sure that there will still be PLENTY of track time on the Friday session, and the Cobras/ GT40s won't be mixed in with the "public".

Cheers,
Warren

Just had a look at WP calendar....
And maybe I'm talking thru my ring !!!!

It looks like they will be having an "open to the public" day after all.

Consider my head pulled in !

And be careful to any of you that are attending...and see this as a golden opportunity to give me some stick....

The M. C. WILL GET YA BACK !:

Cheers
Warren

Gav,

Don't annoy the M.C.

He has an uncanny way of seeking revenge..... with microphone in hand.

Next thing you know he will be wandering around the function room looking for his next target and he will spot a Victorian / New South Wales B club member............

Ha ha
