Treeve, I know the regulations. I just had a go at trying to explain the same thing myself above but was rushing.
Glad you stopped using chassis date terminology as that is confusing with ICV's and why your explanation made no sense to me.
Using 1st registration date is much more accurate as that is when the ICV finishes it's compliance process and becomes a real vehicle in the eyes of our transport departments.

Chook, best to give me a call. I would like to chat about your requirements first before I bother the owner and spend any more time on it myself.

Hi Chook,
Save up and buy a Pace 427, Definitely my choice if I was to start over again. Check out d4's 427 Pace build thread on this web site and you will understand where I'm coming from.

Thanks for the chat today Craig. True Champion!
Baz - I'll tell you you're not the first to suggest that. That's in my five year plan - as the fifth year!!! It would take a few more years of savings and can't wait any longer! Want to start on a lower scale, learn as the years go by and move to something much better quality like that. Loving d4's photos and thread. I encourage all the others that are in the same boat to do the same.

The hunt is over!!!!!
On Wednesday I flew to sunny QLD and journeyed to SE Brisvegas, and am proud to say I'm the new owner of a 96 DRB. It has a Windsor 302 stroked to 347 with a 4 spd toploader. Blue and white stripes. It's being carried down by truck so can't wait for the arrival next week.
It's Christmas in September!!!
During the day I also visited the Absolute Pace facility and met with Craig and Rob. Craig gave the grand tour of the place, and I must have said it a dozen times, but it's very impressive!
The quality, workmanship and value of these vehicles is extraordinary.
I'd like to send a big thank you to Craig and Rob who organised and carried out the inspection of my vehicle before flying up. By doing this it gave me the comfort that I was buying something of good quality, reliable build and great value. These guys have the expertise and experience that I am missing. Thanks guys - I'll be recommending you to everyone!!
I'm still working out to upload photos so they will be coming soon.
Thanks to everyone who has contacted me throughout the journey and I now move onto the next chapter with Treeve and gaining registration.
And looking forward to meeting most of you at the nationals!

Well done mate. Jump in, ask the right the questions, involve some good people and don't hesitate when you find something you like.
Good result!
