What is the braid that you have used on the coil pack wires? Is this a wrap around or does it go on before the connectors?
Ive been looking for a nice alternative to plastic split tube. They have similar to what you have there on ebay or Ron Francis do a split braid that can be put on after. Its hard to know from photos what looks good in person.

So how much do you charge per hour?
I figure you're hired.
I ain't got the skill and you got way too much talent to not "share it" out.

Mando, did you build that thing inside a CD factory or what? Mine gets dusty in the shed just between weekends! Thanks for sharing.
Where is the steering column taken from? It looks a little more compact than the Ford Laser one.

Thanks guys,
Zedn, your going to love this. The braid is woven onto the loom by a guy in Melbourne. It's tight on the wiring and the open ends are finished like the ends of a pair of socks so they won't fray. You can have the fleck in most colours or not at all. You send the guy a picture of the loom laid out as you want it, when he gets it he unravels it and weaves the casing so it follows your layout. I was going to do the whole loom but my auto electrician talked me out of it. When the looms for the coils arrived and he saw what it looked like, he wanted to pull the loom out of the whole car to get it covered but by that stage the loom was bound really nicely and installed and I just couldn't do it. It looks so 60's it's incredible.
Dimis, I don't have the talent but I've certainly got the time!
Davew/gjkrv8, I didn't know what I was doing so the cooling system I built wasn't up to scratch and had lots of airlocks plus I also left the cap of the overflow tank half locked and the coolant turned to steam and covered absolutely everything you can imagine except the paintwork. It took 4 months to clean the mess. When it happened I was actually really happy because it gave me the chance to fix things I wasn't happy with. Some of these have been,
-installing a bung at the bottom of the radiator to drain the water.
-installing a new dipstick. [it's my favorite part on the whole car].
-new rocker covers.
-changing all the red/blue fittings to silver/black. [you can see in one of the pictures the one and only blue fitting I didn't remove on the car. It was just to much work].
-teflon hoses for all the fuel lines.
-ceramic coat the headers from silver to black.
-removed at least half of the braided lines and fittings I had that weren't necessary.
-installed these nifty little air bleed vales at the top of my water lines.
When my motor was stripped it basically needed LOTS of "stuff". It was pulled down to nothing and rebuilt. I remember the cam was blue and the engine builder said it shouldn't be that colour. The engine builder is planning to install the new motor within the next 2 weeks.
Regards.

Sambo,
I promised myself I wouldn't clean the body until it was back on the road and 100% finished.
The steering column is from a Suzuki Swift/Holden Barina.
Regards.

BJ, what you fail to understand is that it's a ridiculous disease. I wish I could just cut a piece of steel in the vice, drill a few holes and bolt things up using whatever nuts and bolts I had handy. But no. First I would draw something up, then get it laser cut, then bend as required, then if it was right and didn't need to be made again, polish/paint or anodize the item. Then the bolts I use would have to be not only stainless with nyloc nuts, but to add to the nightmare they must be the same thread, the same length and the same manufacturer. It's taking every bit of self control not to replace the only blue fitting left on the car knowing what's involved to complete the task. I actually find myself daydreaming about it. Now that's crazy!
Regards.

I will then make this pledge to you Mando that I along with many others shall remind you of that ONE odd ball OUT OF PLACE fitting that SPOILS the whole finish and theme of your life's work!!! ...... DAILY!!!
