Here a few of videos from onboard our car on the weekend...

My best lap (1:06.603)

Dad's best lap (1:07.659)

and my best hillclimb run

Thanks to all the NSW Cobra Car Club committee for putting on a great event once again, it all ran like clock work. Plus, the weather stayed brilliant all weekend which was nice for a change! Also, well done to all the podium place getters and Ash on King Cobra!

True and it sounds like a lot of people had mechanical dramas over the weekend, but I guess a lot of people were saying they just wanted to see Mark on the same track for an apples to apples comparison. The BDM car has shown its outright speed, but comparing Mark's RMC to the other street registered cars shows that it's no show pony and is a genuinely and impressively quick street car.

Best not compare race class tyres (A6s) to what the other street regod cars DOT were running Craig.

Mongrel was in race class therefore we can only compare against race class cars. That's how the nats works.

Ahh bugger, so it wasn't an apples to apples comparison like I assumed.

Yep A6's & a sequential Hollinger... A tidy race car but hardly what you would call street... Two seriously fast cars on track doing 61.1 second laps, scary fast!
A great Nationals, in my opinion...

this is what we removed out of the rear of Old Gold Friday,

After a few offers of replacement diffs, PhilM, Pete Georgio to name a few,

a couple of phone calls Later from Neil (IAN) Streeting,

We got onto Con at Diff Technics,

Who had enough good replacement parts,

and the willingness to build me a diff from scratch after 3pm on a Friday of a long weekend, Legendary!!!!

So 500k round trip later and some cash we had her running by midnight Friday night !!!

Ps Thanks to Ash and Mick and all the others that helped out on the repair...

As a newbie and in the 5 litre class I was pretty glad to shoot 1.13.001 (soo close to 12's )

That got me a nice little trophy for 3rd place....so I'm chasing Kim with 7's and Maddison with 6's........so I need to slash 6 or 7 seconds.....may as well be 6 or 7 hours

Great driving fellas

Gotta LOVE that road trip to the Nationals.

Not a speeding fine for 4 years, while the Cobra was being built.

In two days on the trip down to the Nationals....
7 points and over $600-00 in speeding fines....

All three tickets were for reasonably minor speeds...
96 in an 80kph
68 in a 50kph
72 in a 60 kph

Bloody speed limits on that Pacific Highway change every few kilometers...and you've got to keep an eye out for the signs...or this happens.

Miserable

Yep.....

Little boxes sitting in the trees making lots of cash for the Cockroaches !!

Just looked at the photos on line...
Road is three lanes wide....not another car in site.....
60 kph zone...
looks like something that Top Gear would use for speed tests !

I would have been only one of PLENTY of tickets for that strip of road.

AND...

The 50 kph zone for one of the tickets is in the middle of bloody NOWHERE....
It's when an 80kph zone, suddenly changes to 50 kph for about 200 metres for no frikkin reason, other than to put a permanent speed camera there !!!!

Pricks!

Bad luck Waz!

I hate hearing stories like this, and I want to throw something when I hear the "do-gooders" mouthing off about 'we always sit five kays under the posted limit and we never have a problem'.

Revenue raising--pure and simple!

Whenever I come home from a road trip on the bike, it's like living on thin ice for the next three weeks waiting for the tickets to arrive. A well placed piece of mud has saved me on a few occasions , but it's more difficult to use this ploy with a car. No wonder the sods want to re-introduce front number plates on bikes! I always have my Garmin on -- it has an Australia-wide program with an audio and visual warning of fixed cameras that is updated each year. Great for fixed cameras in built-up areas where it's easy to miss any warning signs because of sun on your visor or generally just concentrating on the traffic around you in unfamiliar territory, but of course useless with these sneakily placed every day cameras.

Anyway mate, sorry, I feel for you...

All on Tuesday and Wednesday...

Hope no more in the system on the way to me....

I'll have to report that the car was stolen, and I was too drunk to report it...and just remembered now !!

I'll work on something better than that I think !
