Yes, but they were not viable to send directly to Australia. So they were shipped to the USA as per normal delivery.

There are 23 photos of my Kirkham 289 slabside on the Facebook page of kirkham Motorsports.
Also there will be an original GT40 and Shelby Cobra at the Phillip Island historics next week-end.

Do you mind ellabirating?
What engine combo, gear box, colour etc...
I'm looking forward to seeing this come together.
Best of luck with it all and best wishes for a speedy delivery.

Sounds great. Will be good to follow the build of the solid roller engine as well. Guardsman blue, no stripes....like that too.
Cheers,

Why not go for the 4.125 Dart block, takes it out to 363 cubes with the same deck height / stroke? No substitute for cubic inches..... And it is still just under 6 litres.
There are quite a few of those 363 (ish) engines in Cobras here. Same price....

Restocreations, yes that is my car and my proof reading is not so good.Meaning i am excited about the car not exited.
The engine is nearly complete and is a 347 stroker.Initially we are fitting the replica intake manifold from tony branda with COBRA cast into it and the tall COBRA rocker covers.Carburetor will be a 650 holley double pumper.I do not want a vac secondary coming in with a rush of power in a light car.I also own a 1970 XYGT falcon with a 400 horsepower 351 cleveland and the dp on that is fine.
The engine is to be painted black and Kirkham's will manufacture a full exhaust system as per original.
Also fitting the pure wool carpet.
Don't know when the car will be in Australia, but would presume sometime in middle of May.
I will keep the forum informed of progress.
Thanks everyone for your interest.

Yeah, i realized that shortly after I posted the link.
Vacuum secondaries should not come in quickly if they are set up correctly. It should be a smooth transition that you don't feel. I'd recommend quick fuel over holley. I've used 4 of their carburetors and love them.

Finalised my options yesterday with David Kirkham.
Drivers adjustable seat
Powder coated rearwheel wells and bulkhead.
Halon system
Chrome bumpers
Fresh air for passenger
Rear exiting exhaust as per original cars
There is also a strong possibility that the other two 427 SC Kirkhams RHD may well be coming to Oz.Stay tuned for an update.

It's interesting that you have ordered a BCF (Bromochlorodifluoromethane, also known by the trade name Halon 1211, or BCF, or Halon 1211 BCF) fire suppression system. BCF extinguishers have been banned for use for many years now.

Doug is correct, Halon is a controlled substance (ozone depleting) and can only be approved for use in specialized situations in Australia. It has less severe restrictions in the US and some Asian countries and the Middle East. This could be why Kirkham's are offering it.
I'd check up on other types of on-board extinguishers before you run into grief with the authorities and costly refits.

64Galaxie, the systems Kirkham fit aren't HALON they are AFFF but double check and make sure he doesnt give you HALON because it is an option from his supplier.
From what Ive read AFFF is okay in Australia and there are multiple resellers of this product.

Great pics and some excited Aussies looking at this.
I love the way Kirkham writes the project number on the nose of the car and for the owners looking at these pics on Facebook and seeing their build number puts the reality of their car into perspective. I get wobbly in the knees just thinking about it...but that could just be my age playing tricks on me
Cheers
