The pre 1970 windsor's ran a smaller flywheel 157tooth with 164 tooth after.


Ya might want to check this -- early is 164 and pro 5.0L is 157

Boxhead,

Dont forget the other things needing doing for the LS on top of the $2000 donor like, radiator, wiring, exhaust, fuel pump, engine mounts, bellhousing/adaptor plate, starter motor, flywheel, air intake, tec to add to the cost.

You could still repair the Cleveland and run a carbie, short term at least.

I have been looking into converting my Patrol as I have a cleveland that is a runner but I recon diesel will be the go now.
Maybe a option for you if your doing those kms.

I have thought about diesel too. But don't know a great deal about what is out there.

Chev have the biggest range of v8 diesel from 5.0 to ove r7 litre turbo and non turbo.
They can get pricy though.
There is also a 6 cylinder that puts out great power and possibly better on diesel
