Awesome! Engineering and emissions all passed!
Here's the IM240 test video with a bit of explanation commentary. At Vipac getting my four gas emissions testing done by Nick - passed with flying colours! NOX and CO2 where 20 times less than ADR requirements!
I'd say "circuit" as its part of the "The John Brash Dash Fun Day Sprint at Calder Park Raceway", Organised by the Historic Touring Car Association of Victoria.
Great idea Guy to do a "shake-down" run prior to ShelbyFest.
Regarding tyre pressures I can only say what I do with 17's that have less air in them that expands as it gets hot. I start at about 23-4 I think. Don't let them get above 28ish after a
run. Then back to 28 around town.
What about shock settings? What are you doing with them? (They made a big difference for me). I normally go with 16 out of 18 clicks front and 14 rear.
Have fun and ease into it - don't spin off on the first lap like my first time at the track :-)
Disclaimer: These settings are just what I use and I have no idea but they seem to work for me, hopefully someone with better knowledge on this will chime in for you.

Gregg's correct, Dave. Circuit work.
Thanks Gregg. I'll go soft and see how it goes.
I've got recommended setting for the shocks for road and track, so I'll start with those and get a feel for it.
Should be a good day; you can just circuit all day, and with passengers too all day. I've got a few friends in the HTCAV (plus a mutual work colleague of Gregg and mine) so that's how I got hooked up for it.

Hi Guy, An instructor we had once at a NSW club day at Wakefield told us to pump front and back up to 40psi and adjust down from there. This was when the majority of cars were on 15's.
Without going back through your thread to find out, if you're running S/T's I assume they're 15" and rear's maybe 295/50. I was running 265/50-15 and found I kept them between 36-40 psi. I used to run 24 on the road and that was hopeless on the track.

Correct David, 15".
I also did a defensive driving course back in '95 and Jim Murcott said a similar thing. 40+ psi. 32psi and lower (as recommended by the manufacturers) was, he said, "comfort while you crash".
The 15" tyre is obviously a different beast to low profile tyres. I am guessing most of the historic car dudes on Sunday will NOT be running low profile things, so I'll pick their brains too.

If you are anything like me I'd say during your first outing that tire pressure will be one of the last things on your mind.
When you do start making adjustments try to only do one thing at a time so you have an idea of what worked.
But most of all, go and have some fun!!!!
i would set the pressures mid range of what everyone says and just go out and enjoy the car, dont run it into the ground, drive at a Pace (ha ha) that will allow you to recover if you get a bit loose. Dont punish the brakes and you should have a great day.
Hi Guye,
I'd say you will be needing the info that relates to the AP set up, so I've dropped in the following info directly from the current owners manual.
Track ‐ (15” Street Tyres)
For 15” tyres such as Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T we recommend a starting cold
temperature of 35 psi, but re‐check immediately once they are hot.
Hot pressures should be 40 psi as a baseline.
Adjust from there to suit.
Shock Firmness Adjustment ‐ Track
We recommend initial settings of 12 on the front and 9 on the rear.
Adjust to suit.
I'll actually send you those pages...there's a fair bit of info on all of the various tyre size choices/street use/track use etc., but the bit I've posted above should give you the info for what you are doing and with the tyres you have.
Guye,
Keep in mind you were asking about TRACK pressures and settings......
Low pressures in tyres on a track can result in tyres being pulled off a rim,and you might end up on your roof/ head.
Just sayin....
The info I gave you relates to the actual tyres you have....and the actual car you drive.
All other info is not necessarily anything to do with the car you are driving.
Be safe.
Cheers

Wow! That was a blast!
Thanks Ben, Josh, Cameron, and Gregg for coming to cheer me on.
I was the slowest out there by far (although I could have blown half them away in the straights!). Learnt heaps already. Got about five runs: 4 with my son as co-pilot. One solo.
My times improved all day, which is a good sign.
Didn't even worry about the tyre pressures. I set them at 32psi and didn't check them again.
I did forget about my adjustable shocks the first outing. Wound them up to recommended levels and that made a huge difference.
Here's a YouTube of an earlier run. Cheap ar$e GoPro copy so apologise for the sound.
I'm glad it all went well.....but going on the track with tyres down on pressure, after all the talk and advice....?...and with your son in the car....?
FFS mate....please don't do that again....you are lucky nothing went horribly wrong.
I've seen plenty of nice cars get a lot of damage done to them, and it was because they went out on a track with no idea what they were doing.....but you had the advice ?!
I recon it's always "safety first" on the track....so much different to driving around the streets.
You're a worry.
Cheers,
Warren
