And I think it is a worthwhile place to post a big thanks to Absolute Pace.
Really, for a complete novice like me to be able to actually build a car and to subject to (albeit light) track work without really any hiccups, is just an amazing thing.
I know AP have coped some flack this last year, and I've had challenges along the way, but nothing out of the ordinary (talking to other builders with other kits over the years) nor that wasn't resolved to my satisfaction.
I'm not trying to spruke, but credit where credit is due. Craig, Steve, Wazza and the team - congratulations on what I have to say is a world leading product in this category of kit cars.
I love my cobra.

In other great news, some of you may recall the garage build challenge and whether I'd fit my car in without using go jacks every time. Some of you visited recently learnt that I planned to widen the entrance cause I could make her fit.
Remember the huge alignment problem with the rear end? I think that stuffed me up. So tried again tonight, and voila! My measurements were OK after all! She can actually be reversed in with heaps to spare!

Well done Guy, sounds like you had a ball on the track.
And thanks for the kind words, all credit to you though for doing such a great job on the build.
With your garage, looks like all the trouble we went to on providing the PACE 427's with a tight turning circle has paid dividends on your garage fitment. Depending on the final adjustment on your tyre position in the wheel arch and tyre clearance to the inner guards you can tune more or less steering lock if you need it. But doesn't look like you need any more steering lock...

The number 57 Holden Young Lions Supercar was one I looked at and put a deposit down on only to have the owner (Smiths Trucks) renig on the deal a week later....... Bastard!! Word has it he went belly up anyway, Karma sure is a biatch.
Nice work on the car Guy, glad to see brand loyalty creeping into what is an excellent product.

If you're interested, my car weighed in at 1090kg wet. Split was 600kg rear and 490kg front. That's 55% /45%.
Dry, the weight is a touch over 1000kg, with a 535/467kg (53% /47%) split. This is with all the interior done, etc, so I'm fairly happy with the low weight overall!
That surprised me a bit - I thought it might be closer to 50/50 or 51/49 split.

Bolt on a couple of turbos and a big bar and plate air to air Intercooler. More power and the F/R weight split you were thinking of. Everyone's a winner!

We put a lot of energy into the initial PACE 427 design to produce the lowest moment of inertia we could. Basically we moved all the mass we could towards the center of the vehicle.
This complimented another one of our design requirements, having rear weight bias. As our business has a mid-engine background we have learnt the benefit of running rear weight bias - improved off the line grip, improved corner exit grip, etc. Especially with big horsepower. (The average HP in a PACE 427 would be over 600HP!!!)
Guy, so in my opinion your 55/45 (rear-front) weight distribution will serve you well. Our weight balance generally ranges from 52/48 to basically 55/45 depending on the drivetrain an owner fits and where they locate heavier items like battery, etc.
We are in a lucky position to say it works. We already have street cars doing what we consider to be incredible track times and the cars will just keep on getting faster. We also have street cars producing exceptional standing start launches and straight line times. Let the good times roll...
There are lots of other cool performance type design features in the PACE 427 as well...these will need to be discussed another day.
