Cut, grind, cut again. If it doesn't fit, just keep cutting. Here is the state of car exactly one week after it was driven into the shed with the supercharged motor...
Engine sitting in its final location. Check out the size of those cylinder heads!
Back of the rocker cover sits about 10" behind where the firewall used to sit
20x15" wheels with 455/25/20 tyres are going onto the Chevelle. The 24x14" wheels with 405/20/24 Pirelli tyres were just lying around...

Love it when shed Engineering kicks in...it doesnt fit so lets commit to making it fit. Cutting, grinding ,welding then a Swan appears like it was always meant to be....Keep up the good work.

Wow - at any point has he regretted not putting this into something bigger...Like a Sherman tank, D9, or aircraft carrier?

I have always been a fan of big engine swaps.
Winsor's into ford escorts, corollas, rx7's, LS conversions into Lexus is200, 911's, VW beetles, but this has taken things to a new level. This is just mentally cool.

Dry sump pan had to be modified to drop the engine down low in the engine bay and to clear the control arm.
Sprint car air filter with a carbon fibre lid and CNC billet brackets. It originally sat flush with the throttle bodies, but here it has been dropped down to surround them fully.
When you see the physical size of this motor, it's astounding that it has been able to sit down so low and so far back into the engine bay. Unfortunately, despite this the owner is still not wanting to try to squeeze this under a 5" cowl scoop. The mega-dollar custom top mount throttle bodies are being removed at the moment and will be replaced by 2 x 125mm throttle bodies mounted onto the front of the tunnel ram plenum.
Steering part of the right hand drive conversion is done.
The Chevelle is having the exhaust done at the moment.
Racing seats being replaced with leather HSV seats.
Wiring is next.

Looking at that engine a number of times.... That is just insanely big.
Incredible work and vision to make it work. Don't hesitate for updates as you get them.

Been a while since this was updated. With the goal to fit the motor under a factory steel bonnet, engine height was still a worry with the throttle bodies above the tunnel ram manifold, so there are now a couple of Plazmaman throttle bodies that have been mounted on a plenum "extension" on a common shaft.
Oh, and I just bought the Chevelle back, so now I am the proud owner of an unfinished project and a more powerful naturally aspirated motor than I ever thought in my wildest dreams that I would own. I am going to let the dust settle to decide what path to go down, but if you are genuinely interested in the possibility of buying this motor for your next insane project, let me know. I can see this engine in a GT40!
PS Leroy - this will NOT fit in the Arntz engine bay...

That is a monster of an engine and you have did excellent work on everything. I would really like to see a video of it running when you get it to that point. Congratulations on a great job.

Well done on achieving something that was not on the radar, sleepless nights ahead just sitting and looking at that in the shed.
Fitting into the Arntz, well nothing is impossible...... But maybe this is.
