I've been looking at these photos for half an hour and I still don't know what to think.

Brave move?

Great craftsmanship -- as would be expected from the Pace crew. The little strengthening lip around the leading edge looks terrific.

Where will you route the air inlet to? Will there be sufficient room to run it down to one side of the scoop? Take a headlight out like the turbo-Ricer boys? Maybe a cowl scoop? If so better tell Craig soon!

One thing's for sure -- you won't have any trouble with a fogged-up windscreen.

Good luck with it. It's good to see someone with the resolve to push ahead with an idea of his own that's something a little different.

Hi Donunder, Many thanks for your thoughts and comments, I wanted a la-mans hardtop I thought the GT40/Daytona Scoop would look more into line with the hardtop and since I don't have carburettors so was easy choice.

Yes the quality work that Craig and his staff produce are very impressive it all looks like its a production vehicle option even though it's a major change.

I have thought of some Ideas, I thought trap doors from the cowl into an airbox or cowl scoop for inlet pick up any thoughts? as there is plenty of room in front of the engine before the radiator.

Very interesting project. Thanks for posting the updates and pics, Hail.

Don - I was wondering if there's even a need for an intake air scoop. With all of that hot radiator air routed up and out of the engine compartment, the only thing left in there would be some radiant heat from the engine and exhaust manifolds. Underhood air temps should be way lower than most cars and a simple duct into a wheel well or bonnet/cowl vent might be all that's needed to supply cool intake air.

Buzz I was thinking a cold air box and cone filter mounted in an inner guard somewhere would do the trick, depending on available space.

I also think a small cowl scoop could be effective and look the part, though that's getting even more radical, and care would need to be taken to ensure that the whole bonnet did not then become too "fussy". My preference would be an under-bonnet solution.

Hi Donunder, My thoughts along your same lines cold air box and cone filter also the pressure on shroud would be high as someone mentioned and I was thinking a trap door from the shroud opening into the airbox at speed would also force more air in cone filter

Hail - if you use a trapdoor into the airbox from the shroud opening, do you think that using the hot air passing through the radiator for intake might cost you some horsepower as opposed to drawing cooler air from somewhere else?

Also, not too sure about the pressure there, as the design by nature is intended to create a low-pressure zone above and in the hood opening to assist in drawing air through the radiator and evacuating up and over the bonnet.

Thanks Buzz, I haven't tested any venting yet but there is so much room up front I think the heat would be minimal.

Again I haven't tested but I will see where the best placement of air box and use of the air pick up would be, thank you for your thoughts I assumed every thing was going from the shroud but if it could be made simpler it always the best way (KISS)
