Sounds like a plan - Also if that fails I would check maybe the inline filters to make sure they aren't blocked from picking up any crap from the new Tank etc? Maybe bypass them as a last ditch effort.

Cheers

Gregg

I'm glad I'm not alone then, lol. I'm in Singapore this week, so will be looking into it on Saturday.

Today I dealt with the fuel problem. Checked voltage and earth at the pump first with it running, 14.4volts.

I upgraded the low pressure pump inlet side to be all -8 (the fitting on the tank is -8), filled her up at the bowser and went driving around the industrial estate, did 20kms and had no problems, pressure constantly 52-54psi. Oil temp hovering about 70, water about 88, this was all cruising the bends, average speed according to the GPS was 48kmh.

I need to talk to VEI about my speedo as its totally whackers. I have seen 350kmh but it shoots around all over the place, clearly it doesn’t like the signal that the ECU is putting out, they will have a fix I just need to find out what it is.

Need to get on to the aluminium dash panel this week too and off the temporary MDF.

Today was a good day, starting final preparations. Changed the oil and filter, fitted the fire extinguisher, and got off the MDF dash and fitted the aluminium dash. Eventually I will have it covered in leather most likely to match the seats but for now I didn't want to stare at scratched raw aluminium for a few months so just got some 3M vinyl wrap from SuperCheap. It's not perfect but good enough for temporary work.

Looks awesome, keep that shifter surround as is, raw metal and all those button heads looks good as well . That led light looks like a Wurth one, nice, I use mine often and it's the best portable light I have used.

Driving down the highway at night, that dash will looks unreal.

thanks Leroy. The light is a BOC one, while it's better and smaller than my other one from Jaycar, its still pretty crap and battery doesn't seem to last long. For undercar I have been pulling out the 20 year old plug-in fluro lead light, can't beat that for lux.

The car is as ready as it can be I suppose, for a track outing when it has done less than 50kms.

Bolted on the hood scoop, that's gotta be 50bhp right there.

I had an old iPhone 4S kicking around which has now entered a new phase of it's life courtesy of Harry's Lap Timer

looking great Ben, great use of the iphone.

Do you have a steering lock, noticed you had the ignition on the dash. I understand you need a steering lock for VASS approval?

Ben just check with Towmaster or the other Fellas that your iPhone setup will pass scrutineering? They're very cautious of camera mounts and the like so having this on your wheel "may" pose a problem. Don't know for sure but check to be sure. Unless its a pi$$ take and Im too dopey to get it!

Matt.

Hey Ben, lay a few Turps soaked rags on the packing tape residue for a day or two and it comes of fairly easy.
