Does that mean I am finally going to see the Blue Circle Cement "Australia's Most Original Cobra" in the flesh? No more excuses :-)

I was there as a visitor last year on the Sunday- you probably thought it was Bernie's car though.

21st Nats
Thought I might bump this.
Seems to be a fair bit of banter up this way about a few newbies coming down from the Sunshine State this year as well as the regulars. There's always talk aorund this time but it will be great to see if some new faces come along.
The regulars have a new car or 2 to show, a few registered AP cars coming hopefully too which will be great to see. Towmasters got a small block aeration issue on the V8 Supercar (Bloody Chevs!) but having seen it go I can't wait to see it run around WP again under new power. Don't mention the "D" word.
The BDM guys have built a new car, space frame, big wing, sequential etc and its quick. Plus the other BDM car now has 2 Turbos sticking out the bonnet.
Wazza has sold the red rocket to a much younger Chunky Hancock. It will be interesting to see if YOUTH makes it go faster!
I hope the weather warms from what you southerners have been experiencing the last few days. Up here it's....well same as always blue sky, warm, perfect!
I hope we get a good number participating and as usual its always great to catch up with old friends you don't get to see very often.

Tyres
For anyone chasing new tyres for the Nationals I suggest you get in contact with Craig Hornibrook from Hornibrook Motorsport at Geebung in Brisbane.
Hornibrook Motorsport - Brisbane's Premier Motor Sport Tyre Dealer!
On the Hoosier DOT Tyre he's cheaper than MDMsport and Tirerack USA and his service is excellent.
For the last few years I've always bought my tyres from him and I've again just done the sums and found again his pricing is still very very good.

Just so everyone knows, there is no 'Speed off the Streets' practice day on the Thursday this year. Apparently the track has been privately hired again.
I thought we had an arrangement with them after this happened in 2012?

Ptd
OK thanks to Neil there is an opportunity for people to run on the Thursday as part of the private track day.
The days organiser will accept entries for up to about 10 - 15 cars. Will be about $145 for the entire day and you'll get 1 x 15 min run each hour and you also get a nice lunch too. (I think.)
Wazza, Paul G and I will have the email address to send off to register and pay. So anyone who wants to run early for pre Nats practice can now do so.
Big thanks again to Neil S for getting us the opportunity.

Bumpnats
Just a BUMP to remind everyone that
"All entries need to be received by September 19 2014"
I understand once this date passes you miss out as no late entries are being accepted.
I get the feeling numbers may be down this year AND there is some urgency coming from the organisers to get numbers up and locked in. If numbers are down we could be facing increased costs or even worse lose the weekend.
So don't hesitate. With the industry coming alive it seems and lots of new owners of seasoned and new cars it'd be the year to come along and dip your toes in the water.

The dates for the Nationals this year are the 3rd 4th and 5th of October.
Don't do what I did and organise myself for the last weekend in September.......

It looks now as though there is no hope of me getting away to come and play with you all this year
I had planned that I might be able to sneak away and be a marshal for the event but unfortunately a customer has informed me that I will be elsewhere working for the long weekend.
Not being able to go is really disappointing, its a great weekend away with plenty of laughs.
Ill have the chariot back together for next year I'm sure.

The long range rain forcast is looking good at this stage, so anyone holding off should jump in....
