You could do the manual pump prime I suspect when the time comes.
Remove dissy or cam syncro and drive the oil pump off an extension bit and drill to prelube all the system before starting any cranking in anger.
Keep it all sealed up for as long as you can but when you have to open the pack up try and get some run-in oil into it and regularly turn it over squirting oil into the bores.
My engine had a pretty hard life prior to my restart but fortunately it doesn't seem to have caused any extra grief other than the shrinking seals in the water pump.
