Exclamation CV joint vs Uni Joint ?

Why can't I fabricate a drive/tailshaft by using CV Joints instead of a std Uni Joint

Why would you say that? The whole point of using a CV joint is the fact you can run reasonably hefty angles without running into binding problems.

Most of your serious off road 4wd racing vehicles all have CV joints. That is the only way they can get 24" of wheel travel.

Universal joints produce rotational pulses when angles become too great. CV joints produce a more steady rotation. Thus the term "Constant Velocity".

The drive shaft to the diff is doing engine revs at 1:1 -- big angles makes lotsa heat

My driveshaft has a CV joint at the gearbox and a uni at the diff. Went that way because I was connecting a live axle to a gearbox with an output flange. Built by The Driveshaft Shop in USA.

Looks good.
