One step closer! Here's hoping for a smooth meeting with the engineer tomorrow.

Well, here she is....the first Pace 427SC on the road in Victoria. It wasn't easy going...I've pulled a couple of all nighters this past week but I can't believe how far I've managed to come from only 8 weeks ago.
The first drive was miserable as my sparkie accidentally wired up the 1-4 skip shift function instead of the reverse lockout solenoid, so all I could get was 1st,4th and reverse was a two handed affair to select. Thought at first it might have been a faulty clutch master cylinder and Warren at Pace was fantastic and sent me a new master via express post....thanks Wazza!
A call to Tremec in the 'states and all was sorted. Now I have all gears and she shifts like butter. The second drive post transmission rectification was much more enjoyable. She drives really well and even though I'm still running the motor in, she goes like stink!
Very happy with the way things have turned out so far. Engineering in the morning and off to Vipac on Feb 1 for the IM240 emissions test. Plan is to have her painted and trimmed by the next F1 in late March.

Ha trust you didn't look too closely.
Will be back to Nathan after re-rego for replacement with a decent exhaust and few other tweaks.
Then I'll have to get the car back to Greg to correct the paint chips that have already happened - DoH

Looking good
Well done Sime. Look great. Looking forward to hear how the engineering and im240 test goes. Have you sourced any side pipes yet?

From what I saw Steve it looks like you did a great job! The interior is nice too. Are you keeping the woodgrain dash or having it trimmed in the same leather as the interior?
That's a shame about the paint chips. Sometimes you just want to wrap the car in cotton wool!

Thanks Dave. I managed to pick up a set of near-new FFR stainless sidepipes from a USA seller for a great price so I'll be using them as dummy side pipes and keeping the undercar system.

Side pipes
I have the same plan re the side pipes being dummy ones. Have been keeping my eyes open in the U.S. as well. Thanks for the info re the Cat converters picked up a set that look like new off an SS from eBay.

First paint chips were around both doors as the doors both moved. Not sure if it was the trimmer or the effect of the new trimming material forcing the doors ajar.
Had also noticed a chip on the left rear flank after we had collected the car from Nathan.
Not in a position to blame anyone but it would be nice for the chips to happen during normal use, that I can live with.
On side pipes I have yet to refit chromed pipes I sourced from Vintage wheels for use as dummy's.
They are heavy because the centre section is build around a hot dog so they could be used live if I really had a hankering to do so.

Sorry forgot to say that the dash is staying as is in wood.
This particularly as I've never been a fan of fabric covered dashes and the puckering effect they seem to get around gauges and the like.

Great news.....apart from a few small, easily rectified issues,my Cobra has passed engineering testing. Booked in for the IM240 test on Monday,February 1st....then assuming a successful pass my application goes into VicRoads for a VIN.
2-4 weeks later and I can apply for registration and put the plates on. Happy days!
