PACE GT (GT40) First Public Unveiling at the Cobra Nationals
We will be unveiling our new PACE GT for the first time at the Cobra Nationals on 3/4/5th October at Wakefield Park Raceway (Goulburn NSW).
Will post some photos here after the event, well I will probably be beaten to photo posting by visitors to the event anyway.
Some PACE GT highlights:
Carbon Composite Full Gloss Body Panels
Kevlar Re-inforced Carbon Door Panels
Authentic Body Shape
Aluminium TIG Welded Semi-Monocoque Chassis
CNC Billet Aluminium Pushrod Suspension Front and Rear
Brembo Brakes Standard
Pin Drive or Bolt On Wheels
4-Point Roll Cage Standard
And lots, lots more.
Best of all we have an incredible amount of interior space, lots of seating height, lots of seat width and lots of foot room. We can fit 6'5" guys easy.
The PACE GT is already in full production.
Please come and see the PACE GT and of course our PACE 427 at the Nationals. We are located in the first 8 pit lane garages.

Great stuff Craig. Congratulations on the GT; having seen only a small part of the innovation and imagination that's under the skin on the AP427, you guys deserve continuing success!
Cheers,
Glen

Hi Craig, I presume you're replicating the Mark 1 body. Any plans to do other versions (Mark1A, Mark 2,3,4?).
Cheers, George

Craig I made a comment about this last pic of the GT on your Facebook page as to the roofline's profile or curvature.
Is it in fact flatter than the the roof on John's red car?

I was thinking the same thing. Doesn't look like an optical illusion from the shed panels behind it. Maybe one the AP tricks to get some extra headroom?

I sat in the GT, actually I spent a bit of time sitting in there, Im 6' and if I had a helmet on I would have needed a bubble, even though it was a hard plastic seat sitting on the floor.

No, it is just an illusion with the reflections. It is same shape and profile as an original roof. So fully curved etc. We do not modify body shapes for additional cockpit space, buyers these days tend to want more original body shapes. And that is what we have provided.

Ben, the design is to lean the seat back to gain head height. That particular car has a shorter owner, so seating position was more upright. That seat was also mounted on seat sliders which add height to the seat. We have a serious amount of cockpit length, seating width and feet space, so larger guys can feel comfortable. We can fit seriously big guys into it and if more space is required we can always drop the floor and with larger diameter tyres you can keep enough ground clearance. The form fitting seat design also means less padding required for comfortable seating.
We had Paul(Gulf GT40 at Nationas) sit in there. He has just recently owned a RF and also a DRB and commented that it was larger in every dimension than those cars.
A helmet adds 1 1/2 to 2" inches to your seating height.

Craig, have you actually gone this route? Say you drop the floor an inch you're going to need to increase tyre diameter by 2". That's a pretty radical change to the tyre profile.

We have dropped a stack of floors over the years. If you are running 15" wheels, you end up with about 15mm more ground clearance anyway than if you fit typical 17 & 18" tyre. Also you can just not run the car as low. With our bolt on suspension mounts we can supply an optimised suspension geometry for any desired ride height.
With our PACE GT you would be a pretty BIG individual to require a dropped floor. We are talking 6'5" plus individuals.
