I used on my Harrison a Goodyear GSD3 285 40 17. I can assure you that not all tyres are created equal. These measure out to nearly 300.

Plus, they were a little taller in the sidewall which really helped fill a guard. Running 245 45 17 in the front gave a little rake as well that looked in proportion.

The GSD3 was squeezed on a 10 but looks best with a 10.5 rim. This tyre had a AA A rating with tread wear of 180 for memory.

Do some google image searches to give an idea compared to others.

There is a good pic comparing a sumitomo 315 35 17 and a GSD3 315 35 17.

Wayyyy different, I will see if I can find it, it shows that the GSD3's measure big.

Gregg is there any room to move the wheel outbound by 10mm, or would it start hitting the guard?

Hi Ben - yes on the passing side there is room under guard to move it out.

The taller 295s didn't rub either side by the way.
