Another bloke needs another shed
Hi all,
Just thought I would start yet another workshop thread.
We sold our place just before Xmas and had purchased another block last year to build on, so given I have now just over 2 months left till moving day the pressure is on to get my new workshop built in time.
I am an electrical contractor and I work from home, so I need somewhere to store gear but more importantly need somewhere for my toys to live.
While it has served me very well over the past 12 years, I have found that I need more room.
[/IMG]
The gable end that is to be clad in stone and the two doors on the return side will be all that is seen when you drive in the driveway, so kind of disguising the length of the shed. I have a couple of boats that will go in those two bays, reversing them straight back in will save me having to allocate room on the block to manoeuvre them around.
The other walls are to be clad in 'M' panel that is colourbond steel, pressed to look like weather boards and is hung horizontally on the walls. We have a garage and a shed where we are now clad in the same stuff and it looks great.
I also wanted a 'clean' and 'dirty' workshop space in the new shed, the clean being a room for building up work stuff along with the odd engine, it will be sealed and air conditioned (we get loads of dust up here and it gets into everything, I hate it) and the dirty workshop will be for metal work, grinding and other stuff that doesn't matter if it gets dusty.
I am having the whole thing insulated with aluminised foam sheet like Boxy has had in his new shop and will be fitting an evaporative air con to keep things comfortable in the main shed space during the hotter times of the year.
My planning permission and build permit are to be granted any day now and ground works are to commence in the next week or so, exiting times!!!
Gav

Good stuff Gav, love that L shape idea - 2 separate parking areas with workshop between.

Only the table end and the two roller doors on the 'L' end face the road.
I can easily reverse the trailers in from the road without having to allow extra turning space on my block.
I'm going to need a taller ladder to wire the lights thoug!!!

Gav
Looking good! My shed is just over 4m at its peak and I knocked up a platform for the top of the ute so I could stand on it and run the cable for the lights. Much easier than even my tallest a-frame ladder. The only challenge was clearing the floor to get the car in.

It's been a while since I have had an update on the workshop.
Life and love has been getting in the way of a shed report so here is where I am at.
I am now all moved in. But unfortunately not completely organised as yet.

My beautiful wife bought me some toys recently so the 'dirty' portion of the workshop is now pretty much complete and organised.
I now will start on the 'clean' workshop that will have a mezz floor above and toilet/wash station.
The hoist will probably go back together soon too.
I drove the cobra for the first time in ages the other day and are pleased to report it is still off its head and loves melting tires.

Nice work Gav. Looks really good.
Hare and Forbes is a very dangerous shop. I reckon I've probably spent about $25K in there over the years.
Cheers
