Not to take the shine off the Nationals, but I think a 'State Titles' show/shine/race gathering would be an awesome idea!!!!
Thoughts Wazza?

HI Zacson, this idea and similar ones has been talked about for many years. Like anything, nothing is impossible but imo like the NSW Cobra Nats, it would need a separate organising committee to make it happen. Its always difficult and risky to commit the club to a large financial outlay for track hire etc etc and then find people don't sign up and commit to come. We often see this on track days where people say lets have a track day and then some of those wanting it don't come for whatever reason. That's just life I guess.
Of course apart from that, the club doesn't have its own insurances so if you did do anything publically as members, you participate and organise things at your own risk.
Perhaps, do some investigating as to what you think we could do, including costs, approvals and relevant insurance costs and put it to the committee to see what they say?
It'd be great to see any club evolve and grow and it's ideas like yours that get converted into reality that will make it do just that. I'm keen to hear what you find out....
Also, well done to Mark, NSW CCC Pres and the NSW Car Club for some more new and innovative ideas for this years Nats. My wife has been at me to move the pedal box in ole #6, so if she sees the new ladies category I'll be stuck up the shed for a few more days!!

I hear what you are saying but at this stage I don't have a Cobra on the road so I'll be in no rush to look into the organisation of a 'State Titles' type show.
But, by me mentioning it on this forum as a suggestion I'm sure it can be brought up at the next club meeting as a 'show of interest' topic?
Although by what you have written, it's been a fizzle out for a while now.

Little Enhancement for Nats 2015
Hi Folks,
I like to do a little upgrade each ShelbyFest/Nationals so that I can hopefully improve my time and not have to rely on my lack of driver skills improving.
Two years ago it was "going power" with a little ECU pep-up.
Last year was "handling" with some nice QA1's.
This year I am going for "Stopping Power" with some nice 6 spot AP Calipers and 330mm discs (compared to my stock VZ 296MM 2 piston floating calipers).
They are installed and Bled but not tested/Bed-in yet - thats tomorrows job.
Now if I could only catch that "other cement coloured CR" :-)
Cheers
Gregg
P.S. I am working on what to do for the rear but that might have to wait.

Nice, things are heating up in the controlled tyre class...
I looked into a fresh set of boots last night, hopefully I'll find some.

The old tyres are like rocks now. Should be a fun year with a few new cars there, but I dont like my chances. But as we always say, its all about the camaraderie....

Qld invites are out. Who's interested in coming who hasn't been before???
It'd be great to see Brett H join the club again and bring down his car (Gary Walthers Yellow Race DRB). Can someone out Warwick way stick a finger in his exhaust pipe and tell him to ring me or text me back please!! He needs to join the club again and come play. It'd be good to see it running around amongst all the others.
There's about 7 regulars with broken bits on their cars at the moment but hopefully all will be attendance.
