I USE PANASONIC 18VOLT LI-ON hammer / rattle most days to do bolts & batten screws in hard wood & had these now for 2 years now as all the rest cant handle all day every day loads
only down side is battery cost [ when others drop them off roofs on to concrete slabs ] & yes I said hard wood as I reno old homes 70 plus years old & still build with

Milwaukee has a couple of 1/2" impact guns. The big mother packs 1000Nm and it's on my list. I have the 18v hammer drill, the smaller impact driver and hackzall tools, great quality and the 5 Ah batteries last forever between charges. They also have a 6-1/2" circular saw that looks handy for fencing projects and a new job site radio that doubles as a charger. I wonder whether it makes coffee...

I haven't used much in the way of 18V gear, but this seemed like a really good option for a single tool to be able to do most things. Drills well. Heaps of grunt to screw things. 1/2"'drive for all but the big/rusted bolts.

I bought the Milwaukee 1/2 impact gun last year - have used it many times - has adjustable torque settings - very neat little unit. Great to have at the track. cheers gregg

Hi, I buy a lot of cordless tools for my work and over the years have tried all of them. Milwaukee brush-less are miles ahead of the rest and their 5 year warranty, what more can you ask for. A bit pricey for the home handy man but outlast others by a mile in my experience.
