Can't leave it alone....

This one's low budget.
Could easily return to standard though....

That LR is a rag top as well, so the LR driver might have to wear a hat to avoid oil drips in his hair.

Overall, maybe risk is too high? I sure wouldn't do it

Cheers,
Glen

....if you didn't bend it while racing and then bent it loading onto the Land Rover, how do you explain that to the boss?

It's not the Land Rover of course; it's the Shelby transporter and it's Allen Grant at Daytona in 1965.
The car apparently wasn't damaged, but Dave Friedman was always there with his camera, which is why this one's always there to remind us why the unfortunate Allen Grant has always been known as "the Loader".
Seriously though, a great driver.

Cheers,
Glen

Fifty years on and I still don't know whether to laugh or cry at that photo.

Poor Allen Grant -- fancy having to live with that forever. Can't you just imagine the smart-alec cracks he's had to endure throughout his life?

Just missed the Shelby transporter selling at Goodwood for £656,700 (US$ 1,014,715) inc. premium:

It looks like one of the ramps has collapsed. I don't reckon it was any fault of the driver.

I wonder how they got it down.

Is he missing his right boot? Maybe he was driving?

Maybe that is Allen Grant with the boot missing....can't tell without seeing his face.
AG definitely was doing the loading (see below, from a magazine of a couple of years ago). "tires spun", so maybe he had a boot off, and his foot slipped?
I have another picture of the car after the incident, and there's no visible damage.....quite amazing.

Glen
