My Everett Morrison has a cable pull for the door release, even my closest friends have a difficult time getting in

As far as theft, I remove the battery disconnect key. It's between the seats and would certainly slow them down (unless they have one on them).

Rojone in Sydney has a system that tracks the car and disables it...all from your iPhone.
No monitoring fees. I think I have a redback in mine.

Year ago I had a system that filled the car with smoke when the alarm was on. All it was is a 1 foot length of phone wire inside a Bakelite tube with holes drilled in it, and a hidden switch. If the switch was on and the ignition was bypassed it would short out the wire and instantly fill the car with acrid plastic smoke. It would only drain 5 or so amps.
I might hook that to a seat pressure switch.

That's hilarious...
Probably less impact in an open top cobra, but hilarious none the less.

I reckon the trunk monkey would be more effective than a Mongoose. Could be pretty bad though especially if he ran up your trouser leg.

Mike,

I first saw Trunk Monkey in 1999, and I still laugh at it.

Thanks

I think I saw it around then too. Every time I think about a car alarm the trunk monkey pops into my head. Great bit of advertising.

Cheers

A mate of mine used to just pull the rotor button out of the dizzy, very effective until some one got a tilt tray and stole it. that's what you get when you park a nice car out on the street every night.

I put my battery disconnect inside my trunk, so when the trunk is locked and the switch is off, the car has no 12 volt power-no lights, horn, starter, etc. This won't keep the car from being hauled away, but it would stop a quick hot-wire job.

when i had my towing business i got a call from a holden dealership to pick up a commodore from a shopping centre carpark i went to get the keys and they gave me a vague area it was in .
after driving around the carpark i see a white commodore and the keys opened the door but the alarm went off and i could not shut it off so i loaded the car onto the truck and away i go with the alarm screaming no one even gave a care i get to the dealership and its the wrong car lol i had to go back to the carpark and dump it off and find the right one i reckon i put the car about 100 metres from where i picked it up the owner must have scratching his head when he come out looking for his car .
eventually found the right car and took it back to the dealership i was the butt of there jokes for sometime .
everytime i rocked up with a car they used to ask if i had bought them the right one . i dont have much faith in alarms to be honest they only stop the honest crooks .
