Exclamation Kit identification

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone can help with identifying my SC kit, I have done some internet research and the closest I can find looks like the ram SC. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

not quite sure it was set up with 302 windsor with mid to late 80s injection on it but i suppose thats not telling a great deal. I would like to complete the build with as early a style set up as I can to go through NSW rego.
But im just starting what i believe is going to be a rather large headache, as im sure a lot of the guys on this forum have already been through.
Any help with information on where I can purchase a build manual for the Ram would be great.

Tell us more about the car. Where did you acquire it? Was it previously registered and where? When was it last registered?

I am curious as I don't know of any others in Sydney apart from mine.

As far as the build manual, it is very basic. I was able to download a scanned copy from the UK cobra website from a member there.

Try Ram Forum and do a search for RAM build manual. If you can't locate it let me know and I will send you a copy.

Realm engineering in the UK now owns this brand but it is no longer in production. The owner races the RAM very successfully and stills supports the local market with parts etc...

From what I have read he is very obliging and a great bloke.

Do you have the body? any pics?

Cheers Chris.

Correction of above post: Cheng at Thunder road cars now owns the RAM and services its customers.

I got this car from my brother in law which he owned for 8 or 9 years and did nothing with,He got the vehicle of a guy he was doing a job for (he is no longer with us )
so any other details on the car I cannot tell you. I will upload a body pic.
Thanks for your help Chris I really appreciate it.
Also did they sell the rams here or were they imported over?
regards Phil

I am pretty sure they were imported. My car was imported by a car dealer in the late 80's as a kit and was first registered 1992 in NSW. My car is registered with a carb. Who knows, maybe they are siblings!

Have you tried getting any details from the RTA. If you can find the build start date you may be able to. I could be wrong, but I believe you need to meet the emissions for that date. There are more informed people on these matters on here than me. No doubt someone will chime in and clarify this.

Unless it's already been registered with a VIN he'll have no chance of getting a VIN. The 'old scheme' (the ECS) and asssociated paperwork has a 6 month sunset from Dec 2011 during which time any old scheme paperwork would be accepted onto the 'new scheme' (VSCCS). The VSCCS has no way of letting you get an ICV registered unless you have a compliant emissions test, which for ICVs means an IM240 test - so EFi.

With a kit this old and imported I'd be more concerned about beaming and torsion testing than emissions at this stage of the build.

Hi Treve. I was assuming it has been registered in its past life. Does your statement still hold for a previously registered car or is it only for new applications.

Dont think its ever been registered , there are still seem lines on the body from the mould and no wear on bushes or brake rotors . But they need a big clean up.

The body look to have faired time okay, however the chassis had an unkind life.
There was (maybe still is) a RAM in an industrial unit up here in Queanbeyan. The guy had half a dozen or so pommie cars he was tinkering with. The RAM was not completed and I don't think it had an engine fitted. He said he had built a couple back in the UK before emigrating here.

All the best for the build.
