Default Unfinished Cobra

Hello to all,
I am looking at a Cobra for sale. It is unfinished and has been so for a long time.
It is a Moylan body (reading the info on here people say it is an anaconda body? or RMC) on a modified crown chassis. This seems to unpopular.
It has a 302 fitted with a C4 transmission. Idea was to run it on gas with a carburetor.
Would a car that was not yet engineered or registered be able to run a 302 on gas and pass today’s regulations on emissions? WA regs.
Any info on these types of Cobra is greatly received.
I am looking for a project and intend to use it for weekend fun. Not going to be racing.
Many thanks
Steve

Hi Cords, check out the thread called "alternative option". Might have the answers you're looking for.

Hi Cords, as Marlox said have a read through the Alternative Option thread as the Crown chassis is discussed there.

It won't have definitive answers for you as we don't know the WA requirements. Your best bet would be to talk to your local rego authority and make contact with the Cobra Club over there. You could call Rob at G-Force and he might be able to shed some light on the rules for you.

There were a fair few Crowns there once as in the 80's and 90's it was a popular option and all the Crown kits I know of came out of WA.

You are also correct that RMC were manufactured by Moylan and they were marketed in QLD by a local as Anaconda

Thanks Marlox & David,

The car shown in the photos under alternative option is the very same car.
Ironic that the other guy looking at it is also called Stephen and lives in WA.

Very good reading a lots of info.
Thanks again.
