Default SunshineCoastCarsNCoffee3

Who'd be interested in doing SC CNC run on the Sunday 10th of January?

My thoughts are meet at Etamogah Pub around 7am, meet and greet then drive up to Eumundi, turn right back to Noosa, Stop in at Sunspace Café Doonan for a Hippy Tea or Coffee and then back down the Sunshine Motorway home about 9.30/10.00ish????

I must admit Sunspace Café does not have the best coffee or breakfast BUT it has great off street parking (bitumen and grass) and rumbling in upsetting the hippies and tree huggers reading their climate change magazines would really make me laugh.

Thoughts.

Sounds great Matt...especially "rumbling in as they are reading their climate change magazines"...:-)

Yes I have to admit that I have only been there the once and the food/coffee wasn't great.....I love mung beans and organic produce but this place was pretty bad! That said the car park and the surroundings were nice and I thought quite cobra friendly as there's heaps of room and we can easily see our cars from the café.

Café Doonan has always been great but the last time I was there the car park was bitumen/dirt and it gets busy with the vege shop patrons. If its improved let me know but I rather invite you fellas along where the venues facilities are good even if that's to the detriment of the coffee.

Let me know Laner if you think the Doonan Café parking is suitable for a group of cobras and we can consider the change. But remember if we change and there's an issue we all blame you!!!! I also like to let the venues know where coming as a matter of courtesy so it you pop in mention we might be coming by if we get some keen interest.

PS. I'm not sure what date the QCCC is having its breaky in January but I won't do a CNC run on the same date as a club breaky. That'd be poor form. Wazza may chime in and let me know.
That way those that want to go to a club breaky can and you can get another run for a CNC on top of the breaky should you want to.

I still think it'd be worth stirring up the greenies.

Keep this up Matt, I will be in for a shakedown run sooner or later (most likely later). But a great alternate monthly run.

Mate next year I'd like to arrange a run from the sunny coast down to Brisbane, meet the Brisbane guys at say Toombul then do a tunnel run from Toombul to Park Rd, down and under the M1, back through the tunnel to Bowen Hills and then a quick nibble and drink at Harry's Diner at Newmarket then back home early evening ish. Should be a great drive in the cool summer evening.

More on this as next year comes around. Might be a fun one to aim for!

Sounds like a fun idea Matt.

Unfortunately, an ideal car for this type of event could sadly be a non-starter. Craig's Contemporary sounds epic going through the Coolangatta airport tunnel but he has this deep-seated aversion to paying tolls! He'll do anything to avoid them. I doubt he's ever been over the Go Between bridge.

Seriously I'll try to convince him of the error of his ways and then I reserve the right to tuck in behind the Contemporary and Carl's D Type. And if Jim Diakos and you want to sandwich me in, then that's perfectly OK too!

Tinnitus be damned!!!!

Sorry about that Matty....
I had forgotten about the dates for the coffee morning, but had a number of people asking if I could move it by a week.
I should've let you know I was doing that....been so busy around Christmas .

Arranging a "Run/Barefoot Bowls and car show" to Brunswick Heads on Saturday 16th .
Barry Corrie asked me today...(in place of the Fish and Chips festival)
Details to follow.
Cheers mate,

Hi Matt

The end of February will suit me fine.

It doesn't take much to get me to go for a run in my Cobra.

Cheers

Default Dates

OK so the year is starting to get going so best I start planning another one of these.

Its a busy year for me as my Cobra is undergoing some changes (new a$$ end and GB) and I need to get it sorted well before Round 2 of The A series in May which I'm participating in this year. I also want to dodge at all costs club breaky dates as well as try and drag some Sunny Coast Crew down to Bris and beyond for Club activities etc

So how does prospective date are for SCCnC3 Feb 14. Run and Café TBC

Also, who'd be keen to do an early run on June 5 to the GC for a QCCC Breaky? We can meet up with thee Brisbane contingent and rumble down together. Be great to drag down as many of us Sunny Coast People as possible.

Plus there are a number of Sunny Coast events on up here as well including
- All Ford Day Maroochydore
- Noosa Car Show (Nats people miss this)
- Sunshine Coast Motorsport Club events at Tewantin
- Various days at Lakeside etc

Anyway add in your feedback and I'll make it happen if I can.

Spookypt

Matt,

I am keen for the SCCnC3 on Feb 14 with a run.

Also keen for the run to a GC breaky, as I haven't attended in years.

I have been looking at various practice days (general Practice) at lakeside and QR as well and want to go to a couple of those this year too.

Mick
