Milled.... whatever that is, during a change of setup of machinery.....
beyond me but appreciated anyway.
Saved me the hassle for the desired effect.
Thanks Realsteel, especially before Xmas.

Hey Brett, did you get my PM? Sent it after you had left the States. Nothing too important, just wanted to know how your trip to the Museum went? Sorry I missed are meet-up there (No cheap airfares, during the holidays). Did you get close-up to Ken's car? Maybe some pictures would be nice to see. Mine's in the final stages here at my buddy's shop (Old School Garage, Port Orchard Wa.) You back to work on yours? Cheers Tom.

Boulder
Hey Tom
Got back last weekend then had to pack up to go 4WD camping trip this weekend, so didn't see your message, sorry bout that.
Yes, got up close to #98 at Boulder. Even got told to step back a bit in case I dropped my camera on her, more like dribble on her!
Good to hear yours is nearly done, got to be happy with that.
I will getting into finishing mine now as I hope to have it ready by October for our 25th Cobra Nationals.
Cheers
Brett

Those tires look great! But does anyone know if there is an alternative that looks more like what the original cars had than the big NASCAR billboard Eagles? Like in the photos of #98, above?

He is doing a billboard style kit here in Australia.

We need to get John (CompClassics) involved on this.
He did some work on non billboard tires and I hope he'll be able to provide something for us.

Gauges/ Dash
One of the best things so far is getting the dash layout done.
Finding a 5 inch Tacho was time consuming but thanks to Ross at Riverside Racers in Canada, all good.
Pretty happy with this.
Original.
Cheers

Looks great - whats the reasoning for having the tacho sideways?

So that redline is straight up. You don’t need to read the dial just see the needle with your peripheral.

Wouldn't it be funny if someone had stuffed up back in the 60's, and mounted the tacho crooked....so everyone thinks it HAS TO be set like that for some reason.
Treeve's explanation makes much more sense.
It reminds me of a silly bit of Golf trivia.....
Currently, and since the late 1800's.... the size of a golf hole HAS to be 4.25 inches,
and so many people think that it's all part of the Grand plan in the frustrating game of golf.
Some sort of reasoning as to the relative size of the golf ball, and it is all about making the game more difficult, and that someone worked out the exact size of the holes to make the game "perfect".....
When in reality, 4.25 inches was the size of the hole cutter that they used when they wanted to make it standardized for all golf courses.
The first hole cutter was most likely made out of scrap pipe, which happened to be 4.25 inches....so that was adopted as the "right" size.
I'm going out to the Cobra to tilt my tacho.....see if it helps !! haha
Cheers,
Warren
