looking like the LSA is the best option but perplexed to where to get these from. Has anyone a contact in the club to get a crated engine or donor car available?
Going for the crated option means sourcing loom clutch gearbox and accessories so need some advice where to get and what clutch and gearboxes ( tremec) suit the LSA

Chris,
Berwick Holden are also an outlet for surplus Holden HSV parts as well.
They regularly have engines for sale, there prices seem in line with Holparts.
Cheers
Dave
See if you can make the engine look less like a production engine and give it a bit of old school character. Guys here have done amazing things with LS motors to make them look like old carbureted motors. Let's see what an LSA looks like without so much "stuff" hanging off every corner.

Hi Chris,
Was hoping to tickle it this weekend, but the headers haven't turned up from being coated, not HPC fault, but couriers, was dispatched last Tuesday.
Also i'm missing a MAP sensor pigtail, The engine loom i'm using has an LS2 map sensor plug, but the Map sensor is from the LS3.
nearly there for a first start, but not this week.

Not shame, just exhausted. We all get to the destination quicker, and have more $$ left over to spend at the pub. Then we get all the razzing for not having Fords.... Easier to avoid the hassle.

Didn't intend mine to look like a Ford motor. Just a little more old school and needed to be rid of the plastic intake. The blower was a win/win in my eyes.
The problem some of us had with the later Ford engines is fitting it in the engine bay.
And unlike you lucky buggers O/S, had to meet emissions and such.
The only thing now I hear a Ford motor saying was "WTF was that" as I scream by !!
Pretty much any of the combinations available today has more power than you'll know what to do with. Given the original 427 Side Oiler was only rated at 425 HP even a mildly tuned naturally aspirated LS1 can make those sort of numbers. Engine technology has come a long way in 50 Years
With an LSA in there you'll be talking like Bill Cosby about the Super Snake Shelby built for him.
Cheers
