Saturday Night Live - Eastlink BP

Visiting my hot rod mate and on his suggestion I dropped into BP on the way home to see what muscle metal was on display.

Happened to drive in just before another cobra arrived too.

Anyway a couple of different photographer's perspective interpretations.

The rear flank.

Don't know why but I like it.

its funny ,I recon tyres make a car, first thing i look at when i see a classic is the relation of wheel and tyre to the car. I understand why people use 17 inch wheels and im a Sucker for dish but i love a 60s classic with baggy sidewalls and classic tread with billboards.

New home !! Now able to move forward with the mustang build.

albanycobra 05-31-2016 03:30 AM

Stuart is that 40 from WA?

STUART_T 05-31-2016 03:36 AM

Yeah its a RF, I think it was built by a guy called Rick

albanycobra 05-31-2016 04:45 AM

Yep thats it, I know Rick. Thought the car was a local. What are your plans for it?

STUART_T 05-31-2016 09:34 PM

The car is built really well, even the guys at RF know the car and commented on the quality. Upgrades, first coat the exhaust, don't like the current rust finish and then wider rims and tires on the back, also needs to be lowered.

Nice...clean. Very nice. I like NO stripes. You must get a lot of knowledeable people saying "...is that an original Cobra?"

Cheers,
Glen

I will run Avon CR6ZZ tyres. Classic look, stick well and all round awesome tyre.
275/55/15 rear and 215/ 60/15 on the front. Avons are wider to eye then some of the other brands for same sizes (maybe just me) Rim width has a lot to do with it. This is the tyre combination i am running on the 40 and i love the relation front to rear. How nuts am I? surely tyres cant be that important......lol.

Might as well join in. Some of you may have seen this before, I don't have too may 'artistic' shots on file. this one is that old it was taken on 35mm film.

Dave, 215's are a bit skinny aren't they and a fair bit shorter. Mathematically 275/55 are ~683mm dia where 215/60 is 639mm.

By the same token, 245/60-15 or more on the front is getting a bit big for a small car.
