Header builder in Geelong
I'm looking for someone to build a set of headers for my build, preferably in the Geelong area. Anyone had any experience?

Try Gonzo at south Geelong exhausts.. He fabbed the headers for my Cobra a while ago and very happy with his work.
The other one is exhaust brothers in Geelong, also have done some great work for me previously..
Hope that helps.

Thanks. I don't think Fred at Exhaust Brothers will do them any longer, but I will have a chat to both.

Possibly.. But you may be thinking of Gonzo's pipes based in QLD.
Cheers

Not sure if he is chasing work, but maybe Aussie Mike?

The Gonzo in Geelong is not the Gonzo in Qld.
Gonzo at South Geelong exhaust is a tossa.
I had a set made by him for my XY and had so much trouble.
He didn't even get the collectors the same length as each other. 1 1/2" difference.
I had to take them to Exhaust brothers to get them fixed as he told me he would not fix them.
The guy at Exhaust brothers asked me who made them and when I told he laughed and said he used to work for him.
At the time exhaust brothers had a mustang on the hoist sent down from a exhaust place in melbourne doing a custom set and he showed me them. Should have gone there first.
Gonzo was not cheap either.
Bad job
Bad service
Overpriced

Hole blown with oxy. O2 sensor didn't fit. I gave him one to use as a test plug

All one side the primary pipes were to close to the spark plugs and melted all four lead ends on the dyno.
I also supplied the extractor plate bolts and he threw them away and put shorter ones in so he could get them around the pipes. This only left 2 threads of the bolts to screw into the aluminium head, with no gasket.

It was him,
There was only the 2 of them back then and I was in there often
His name isn't even Gonzo. He is just tagging off the reputation of the Gonzo in Sydney.
About 5 years ago now

There ya go..
He must have been having a good week when he did mine. Albeit the guys that came with me at the time probably frightened them !!
I must admit he only did the shorty headers and the header to side pipes after registration were done by Exhaust Bros.
There are pics of the headers in my album.

Glad you got yours done ok.
I gave him the specs of mine that we wanted it built to then started telling me they were wrong and I would lose torque. He knew nothing about the rest of the engine. i.e., stroke, cam, etc
Dyno proved otherwise.

Exhaust Brothers Geelong.
Their slogan " We exhaust your car and not your pocket"
Owner Scott is a big car enthusiast outside work and appreciates the hard to do and different jobs.
He also is a pilot who scratched built a replica Mustang aircraft.
