Default Gav's new build

Howdy all,
With my garage now empty I have been pondering what my next project was going to be.

I considered everything from a 57 f100 to a 69 Camaro but decided that I didn't like rust, LHD cars or the prospect of the driving experience of a 40 yo car.

So, I decided that I'd like to build another component car and build a Daytona!
I have tentatively been looking at them for several years now and Factory Five make a great car and have stated that they will build a RHD version of their car for me.
I spoke with a couple of FFR past builders and the feed back was good or the negatives that I heard didn't scare me off. (A hot car is part of Cobra ownership)

This car will not be built as a race car, but more of a creator of general mayhem on the street. I'm not planning any cross country adventures but more like the occasional wheely and perhaps a trip to the drags every now and again.

It will be powered by an identical motor as what was in the Cobra but will have a TKO600 behind it to make the driving experience more engaging.

So, with the decision made a ordered my new beast last night and will be ready to be shipped early August!

Now I need to clean off the work bench.

Gav

Gav's joining the Daytona Club! Woohoo. After this I can seriously see you developing a penchant for gold wheels!

What did you decide to do with the Bunnings Beast?

Oh and welcome to manuals and clutches. Hope for you yet mate!

Great news Gav.

I am sure that what comes out of the shed will be a little more than a "Creator of general Mayham on the street"

Better start reading up on this one too buddy.

The Bunnings mobile will actually be finding a new home later this morning at auction.

Thanks Dave for the link, I'll have to study up on how to drive a real gearbox.

Great Gav.

August.... Timing's a bit tight for the Nationals:-)

I know you're not competing anymore, but I seriously hope that doesn't mean no more trash talk! That was the most enjoyable part of these forums for me!

We don't have Masters in sunny Mildura so it's a negative on that one.
There is no promising that the satin paint won't get a go though

Gav

Good news to hear you are moving onto a new car project, we've all got to have toys to keep the grey matter churning and wallets empty.

I happened upon the auction details quite by chance last night whilst surfing but Mike's link doesn't work now probably because the auction finished today.

Any idea which intrepid buyer took delivery of the green hornet?

Dependant on price the motor and gearbox might have been a good pick up alone - no?

I really don't know who bought it, it was however someone physically at the auction so one may surmise that it might be staying in Vic.
I wish them all the best, but it is no longer any concern of mine and I am not in any way responsible for it.

I suppose they'll find the hidden NOS bottle....that would explain those excellent track times...

Hi Gav
Have you sorted out shipping of the kit to you. Will be interesting to see what shipping, import duty etc costs. I hope to sort out a kit later in year as going to Uk for 2 months, so every thing is on hold at moment
