Yep I felt it all the way back from Darwin. It's a pity that old ohc 5.4 triton V8 doesn't have as much torque as my little 6 cylinder.... even that was enough for a 115kmh speeding ticket on the way back.

When you do your wiring don't forget to wire in ya TV aerial.
Also, with your windows, if you can definitely put some in the sleeping area. Your head room looks tight and even with mine having that bit more headroom it can feel a little enclosed.

Wheel arches cut in, 400mm high checker plate will run along the bottom of the body and flare out a little over the wheels. Ply template was cnc cut and refined to this shape. Pretty happy so far. Also got the aluminium extrusions you can see sitting on the top rail.

Not much tonight, removed the 3 old broken adjustable roof vents and installed 3 new ones. Time consuming to remove all the silicone etc and make sure the new ones are sealed against the weather. Also cleaned one top side in prep for fitting the aluminium extrusions. Once again loads of silicone to remove.
Also bought an air operated rivet gun!!! OMG how freaking good are they!!!

The roof is one piece aluminium. It's a single sheet that is 10.5m long and 2.5m wide. I would hate to have to replace it.....

Those Air Vents would be called a VENTLINE 14" Hatch and available from any caravan/ RV store. There is a version of it that has a 12v fan in it to suck the air out ( used in the shower cubicle of an RV). Another model is called a JENSEN Hatch. Hole in the roof needs to be 360mm x 360mm.

What is the best shape for the front to reduce drag? A v nose or a angled front?

hi jaydee
when i did mine i made the roof area start at the same height as the canopy on my ranger and the sides start off the same width as the back of the ranger
it tows really well and to be honest even loaded the ranger pulls it quite easily. i have towed some trailers that are just flat across the front and it is like towing a block of flats. i like to think with mine the air passes over the canopy roof then shoots up and over the trailer roof and the same as the sides

I remember those deflectors people used to bolt to the roof racks. Semi's use them.

Bit more progress lately. Rear door cover on and all lights in and wired. Allot trim not yet. Have also installed the wheel arch covers. Still a bit of work to do. Will be working on getting the nose cone and wiring for nose cone high level indicators and clearance lights, have a bit of time off over Xmas / New Year so need to get stuck in to it.

Little more progress over Xmas break. Have got some more of the bright trim installed.
Electric brakes and break away is all wired in as is the real lights. More shiny trim to install & start on the 50+ clearance lights....

Not as flash as yours Ash, but a mate who is collecting my trailer in Melbourne sent me a pic today.
He grabbed a couple of box trailers to bring out and sell as well.

Yep I had the same on my other trailer too, hooked the wires to the Andersen plug so it's charging all the time.
