Default Looking for a AC Cobra

New to the site, live in Queensland Australia and are looking for an ac cobra that was for sale in early 2012.
Car was advertised on Carsales and in Just cars mag.
Unfortunately I lost all contact details with the seller.

Car was located in Brisbane, blue with white stripes.
Black interior and was built by the owner in original theme (gauges, wheels, seats)
Body is non standard (+100mm through the doors to suit taller driver)
Car was fully registered and was also used on the track

Unsure if car ever sold

Appreciate if anybody knows the car
Thanks

The description fits my car exactly but it has never been up for sale, maybe the missus advertised it without me knowing while i was away for work, shouldn't be too hard to track down though as that colour combo is quite rare here in SE Qld (not), it sounds like a Harrison with the lengthened body option, if you are looking for another one the new Pace cobras have plenty of room and can be supplied in several blue gel coat colours.

Sorry...I thought I had posted a comment....but I see it hasn't happened for some reason.
I'm sorry I don't know whose car this would be.
It certainly sounds like a "stretch" Harrison...but I can't think who has one for sale.
Good luck,
Cheers,
Warren

Toploader in a stretched Harrison is not a common combo. Might be hard to find....

I don't want to sound like a carsales stalker, however the only blue QLD cars that I recal as as follows.

* darker blue DRB, was a 302, overall in ok condition, bolt on wheels, not stretch, VDO gauges, black centered wheels. Was listed about $50k. Brisbane based out somewhere on the way to Ipswich. Overall was rough and ready, like an 80's build in the backyard.

* lighter blue DRB, this was a stretched one. Had white sidepipes and silver wheels with white centres for memory. The engine bay looked like a dogs breakfast and it was for sale for some time. Was around $51k this was Gold Coast based in arundel I think.

* nice blue, LHD was a factory 5 I think, nice overall car in all aspects. Not sure how it had rego as it was not 30+ years old. Came with a pile of engineering style drawings as well for memory. Was around $55k but did not last long (just a few months). Have never seen it since.

These are the only ones that come to mind, but I am getting old , can't remember Sh!t, and most likely forgot what this question was anyway.

That "extra" 100 mm through the body...would almost certainly make it a Harrison rather than the DRB I reckon.

Do Harrison owners have an extra 100mm in length or girth?

Think that you may be on to something with this one.
Certainly silver wheels, white side pipes may have also been correct, not so sure about the white centres. Money was 47k from memory.
I still think south Brisbane somewhere.

Anyhow, appreciated the help
Thanks

No, close though

The one in question had white stripes and didn't have a timber dash

It may have had only one single roll cage as well.

Thanks

What's the reason for looking for this particular Cobra?

Cheers

Got me thinking too Mike.
Conspiracy theory....
Used to belong to an old girlfriend, copped my first speeding ticket in it, something naughty hidden in the roll bar?...curiouser and curiouser.

No conspiracy theory

I never got a chance to look at the one in question, and never saw if it ever sold, hence the question if someone may know of its whereabouts

I have been on the lookout for one to buy on and off for a number of years
As most are built to individual likes its been harder to find one that I think I'd be happy with.

My height is also not in my favour

The end result is that I may have to build my own

Do not underestimate the ability to work with existing an vehicle that may not fit right.

Through being creative with a pedal set up on a previous cobra I gained over 100mm just in the set up of the pedals, then things like a short boss kit for the steering wheel to have the wheel closer to the dash, and shorter indicator stalk with a amended bend angle makes plenty of room for hands.

Correcting seat mounting points and seat angles can create room which was always there, just not utilised.

Or, get a Pace 427, they have a ton or room for anyone this side of Shaquille O'Neil.
