Default VE Vapor canister plumbing

I need help with the plumbing of the fuel vapor canister from a VE Commodore. The two lines to the left are marked, the large one PURGE, so I assume this go's to the purge control solenoid valve located near the throttle body (LS 3 engine)
The other is marked TANK so that go's to the fuel tank probably up high on the filler neck. But the large flexible corrugated line ??? not sure.
Appreciate any help with this one.

On my VZ donor car it was plumbed into a chassis rail so I assumed it goes to 'atmosphere'. I did the same.

I have the Holden document for a VZ version, and as Peter says the third line vents to atmosphere. Which vent that is on the VE I do not know, sorry.

The nipple marked "tank" goes to the top of the fuel tank in a VE, with a short hard quick connect line.

The large convoluted line goes to the filler neck as the tank breather while the tank is being filled.

I have seen so many techs who forget to disconnect that small line when removing a tank from a VE.

cob,
I have the VE canister in mine. I pulled it from the wreck.
The corrigated tube vents to fresh air, not the fill pipe, the way that corrigated pipe fits to the end holder is how it comes straight out of the car, no other attachements.

The purge tube goes to the evap solonoid mounted on the donk.

The tank tube goes to the highest point in the tank to collect fuel vapour pressure build up in the tank, not the filler pipe, otherwise it will suck petrol when your full, the tank should have a bulge to suit, or tank top should be higher than the fill pipe entry into the tank.
If its a custom tank with out the air trap, its not designed to use an evap system.

I have a G8/VE manual with all the guf, but not with me.

Yes Dave, you are correct about the corrugated tube.
I was thinking of the breather tube quick connect at the RHR of the tank where the filler hose goes on.

At an educated guess I'd say, left to right.

- Atmosphere (there is no 'safety' barb)
- Tank (it's the smallest)
- Purge from engine (Its barb is similar to my VZ and the VE photo in post#1 and is closer to the tank input)

I'd be interested to know if you can buy the 'purge' fitting as I've lost mine during the build.

By the way I just used a Stanley Knife to remove the OEM shrink hose and refitted new hose with a hose clamp. See post #107

i will go thru the speedflow catalog for you and see if they list the fittings in there for you.
