I have not built any thing like this before, if any one has advise for me on the best packages available, also whats a good ending and tranny to run I'm all ears.

Ideas would be great.

Aiden,
we are a South Australian company building AC Cobra replicas based on the original 427 chassis which is fully integrated for an easy build. A couple of photos for you below.

At ICCARS we are not limited by engine choice either; we can run LSA, Coyote, Boss 260/290, Windsor etc.. Our chassis are designed to cater for any engine/trans package.

Happy to talk further.

You have to wonder sometimes if some of these posts are just trolls trying to start an argument. Fortunately the folks on here don't seem to be too one eyed in their suport for any manufacturer.

The discussion is still interesting.

Yep, the troll thing crossed my mind too. But if people like Dave and ICCARS keep post pics like that, I'm encouraging more trolls to sign up!

Gav, it's too shiny the sun will wash out the pic and if you use a flash ...the same again!
I reckon he'll need welding goggles just to drive it.

Cos I don't.
I ride bicycles.

On the other hand my wife now has another new "old" toy she lets me drive.

The mighty observant may recognise it as a 1998 limited edition Paul Smith Rover Mini, with factory sports pack. 1 of only 300 in the world. Frankly I couldn't care less, best fun I've had at 60kph.

Enjoy

Thanks for the prompt Dave.

For those that are interested or are looking at an AC Cobra Replica purchase in the near future our pricing is as follows:-

1) Chassis & Body kit (fully hinged and gapped) using billet aluminium hinges side intrusion bars bonded to the outer door skins etc - $16,500 excl. GST

2) Complete roller which gets you the above + all suspension parts and steering gear + your choice of independent or live rear suspension set up (no allowance for coil over shocks made) $21,000 excl. GST

3) Full Parts kit with all of the above and all additional components supplied to finish the car (minus Engine/ trans, mag wheels & Paint work) - $45,000 excl. GST

Our Cobra replica's have been approved by Tonkin Consulting Engineers in S.A. who are a signatory on every state transport authority within Australia, therefore are suitable for all states across Australia and we provide chassis engineering details as part of the start up kit pricing. Furthermore, we utilise what we consider to be the best of the Japanese based sports car suspension (adapted to our chassis and perfectly set up for driveability and or race application) for a fully independent suspension set up with coil over shocks to suit, thereby having a time tested and proven suspension system that meets state compliance criteria without all the necessity for testing of individual components etc..

I hope this helps someone make a more informed decision about our kits, as we have a very authentic and very strong race quality chassis base to work from, great body finish in the Gel coat stage plus we keep our costs to an absolute minimum to assist those guys struggling with budgets to get into their dream car, as all our work is done in house (no out sourcing) and we are a family owned business, so we enjoy & appreciate helping people to achieve their end goals for the best cost and outcome possible anywhere on the market.

Regards

The only advise I can offer is you DO NOT for 1 second consider a car from Absolute Pace/ Craig White. He is a very dishonest bloke, and you will never in this lifetime get what you pay for. Hope this at least saves you some heart ache.

With all the companies coming and going, I have one piece of advice; Buy all of the kit or assemblage of parts at once if you can.

At least then, two years in - if it should go that way, you are not looking for the special bracket and the company is gone.

Additionally, get what YOU want, not what all the others tell you to get.

Just my $.49 worth ( I am charging more these days ).

Sorry to hear that Davo965; as a manufacturer starting out in this business but having spent the last ten years and quiet a considerable amount of money getting here, I feel that honesty is the "ONLY" policy when it comes to dealing with customers, and robbing Peter to pay Paul is never going to work in a real life.

At ICCARS we have three builds on the go at the moment and I will not take anymore on until we are cleared of our work load, plus we advise our customers where to buy parts to save them money and provide weekly updates on our progress which takes a lot of time and effort to do, but is essential as far as I am concerned to build trust and good relationships.

There's a great saying I like to use when I do major projects in my other life as a Chief Engineer that goes like this - "If we build it together and come out at the other end as friends then we have achieved a successful outcome"

This holds true for kit cars also...
