Default Team III wheels

Has anyone bought Team III rims ?
What sort of quality & what is the service like please?
Did they come direct or did you have to use a freight forwarder ?
Lots questions, but as I've emailed them over the weekend and so far got no answers....a bit disappointed to be honest.....
I want to order a set so......

If you have questions about wheels and want to speak to somebody that knows their stuff you should give Bob Lacey at Vintage Wheels a call. He is extremely knowledgeable and is also very responsive to customer needs.

Rog I got my wheels custom through Bob for my Daytona. Ive got TEAM111 on my cobra. My Vintage Wheels are fine and Bob was good but the importing damage I got and the headache getting them repaired really sucked!

I dont have team 3 wheels but when I go 15's eventually that is what I'll get. Phil had them on the Orphan and they were about the best looking I had seen. IMO the bolt on with nut covers is a better option than knock offs with adapters. They look just as good and you can get a little more dish. I think giving them a call might be the best option - they have certainly shipped many wheel sets to Australia.

I purchased Team III wheels for my Cobra back in 2012. I found Bob Lacey very helpful and great to deal with.
The wheels look great and took less than three weeks to arrive from time of order.

call Team III, they never respond to emails. I think the guys name is Scott, he was very helpful, I didnt buy them because we couldnt get the backspace right to suit my application, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy off him.

I use them on mine... bolt on w/ the lug nut covers... very pleased.

The gentleman I spoke to... can't remember his name... came across as a good 'ol boy w/ a down home tone in his voice that loves hot rods. I got the impression it was a family owned & run business... his wife seems to run the office... and... if you happen to get her on the phone... she can be difficult to understand at times.

Good luck!

I bought my new wheels from Team III last May. They're very helpful and I used their order form to spec my wheels. I received exactly what I ordered.

Here's the form: http://www.etmags.com/pdf_download_d...Feb2015_v1.pdf

I would be very confident in using Team III.

To the best of my knowledge Bob Lacey own's/operates Vintage Wheel, not Team III.
Both do make nice looking stuff though. I've seen plenty first hand.

Good Luck!

ordered mine 15"x8 and 15"x10 in 2013 at Team III

good product and communication. Like the look of fake spinner and lug cover.
Still in good shape.

Rog if you get a set we want pics, as I am trying to decide on rims myself.

Had been leaning towards knock offs myself from Vintage but time and tide has been swaying me back towards a wheel studded option and Team III's have been repeatedly recommended.

Rog, What size cobra rims where you looking at? And are you going for fully polished or conventional painted inners and polished rims? Have you decided on pin drive vs bolt with the cover? Just asking as I do have a set of 18 fully polish 5 bolt c/w lug cover I may need to off load.

Note that these are Team III: 4.5" PCD. Size: 18" x 11", 18" x 9.5. By memory the back spacing is 4.5" on the 11" and 4.75" on the 9.5". The have cast looking centres and polished outer rims with the lug cover and spinner.

If you are considering a bolt on wheel take a look at the American Racing Vintage 427 product. I looked at all of the options and spoke to Bob Lacey at Vintage on several occasions prior to making the purchase. Great looking wheel with the Shelby name cast into the wheel and also on the wheel centers. Great fitting lug cover for the pin drive look. I know that Vintage Wheels has them on there web site and I think that they are about $2000 for a set when you include the lug covers. Could not be more pleased with the 17 inch wheel and tire combination that I'm running on the car.

Hey pigsear, Have been thinking about using 17"s but I'm not adverse to 18's though. The backspace looks like it might be do-able too.
My issue will be with the PCD's as I have 2 different pcd's front to back !
My fronts are 5 x 120mm But the rears are 5 x 114.3mm
What is the pcd and how much ?

Rog

Default PCD of Team AC-III wheels.

Hi Rog,
Probably need to confirm all sizes by a trial fit but I am pretty sure the PCD is 4.5" which is 114.3 mm in metric language. I believe your are referring to E-T AC-III wheels right? $2000 should do it all up. Relative bargain as I have a spare of the front and rear. Take into account freight, GST, and currency conversion as well.. Plus they come in a free cardboard box - yours to keep! Includes the spinner (4), nuts (20), and nut cover (4).
If you want to trial fit them I live relatively around the corner from you (Nth Brisbane). But won't be back in town for two weeks as I am presently squatting flies in the Pilbara, Western Australia.

Cheers,

Pigears.
