Hi Gary,
It's the original E38 ECU that came with the motor and modified by Sideshow who used to be on this forum.

sideshow did mine as well he can be found on fb nowdays he did nice job with the engine wiring loom on mine . he had to flip the loom over so i could mount my ecu and bcm behind my dash . your cars coming along nice mate i need to pull my finger out and get back into mine i think .

Thanks Dean,
Sideshow also did the same flip on my loom, i have got ECU resting behind where the dash will be but need to get dash in place so i can work out where to mount ECU and fuse box.
How are you progressing? Have you fired your motor yet? Who are you using for Engineering, I am using Sot from Modified Vehicle Engineering in Salisbury South, very happy with him,

Hi Wil,
Thanks for comments, the side pipes were from ebay, i purchased them back in 2018, they were around $400 USD.
Patriot Exhaust 50 in Long Shielded Chrome Exhaust Side Pipes 2 pc H1050
( 183429257174 )
They still have them on there but have gone up in price. I can't comment on their sound as yet, when i had my headers and under body exhaust done, i also had joiners made up so that i can remove u/body exhaust (3 bolts total per side) and connect the side pipes.

Looks great. You must have had a good amount of shed time during covid. How was the build? Did you need to fabricate much or was it mostly supplied?
Engine bay and suspension look real tidy

Hi Slipry,
My "kit" purchase was for a bare chassis and body only, so i have sourced/ modified/made/refurbished most of the parts/components. The build overall has been enjoyable, alot of fabricating or modifying, sometimes frustrating with the common 2 steps forward 1 back
scenario and very rewarding. I try to do at least i task every day so not sure what i will do when finished, wife will be happy to get husband back!!!

Hi Will,
Thanks for comment, looking at 2019 Ford Ranger blue with a brilliant white for the stripes. Not looking forward to dropping it of at the painters, it will be weird when opening door to garage and it not being there.

Richard, your wife might only see you when you take her out for a drive.Even though you might say it's finished there is always something you want change/modify/update.

I, and no doubt most of us, know the two steps forward and one step back scenario, but having to make, source or modify all other components is a steep hill to climb. Amazingly well done Richard

Hi Richard, I am chipping away at my Cobra, also 2 steps forward, one step back. I am doing most of the work myself, including body and paint. I really enjoy the fabrication side of the build and am just about to finish the stainless drop tank (I’m going to run on e85 but have fitted a flex fuel sensor)I have made all of the fuel lines in braided stainless with an fittings, made the brake lines, made the dash and fitted the gauges, made a glove box and lid, fitted all the chrome work and windscreen. Made under dash mountings for the ecu,fuse panel and relays. Mounted the radiator with brackets I’ve made. Have made a fan shroud. (I bought a sheet metal brake and went nuts) All the suspension and brakes are done - I fitted the full ap racing calipers and big discs off an R8 commodore. I ordered yesterday the afm delete with a new cam etc from America. I made my own extractors. The bodywork is about 90% done, but has taken a lot longer than anticipated due to the poor figment and alignment of the body I received. I’m looking forward to doing the wiring. Sideshow has my loom and ecu which should be done any day now. I will put some pictures up soon. It’s exciting for you to get your car painted, the real fun (IMO) begins when you can start reassembly with all the shiny bits.

Sounds good Will, sounds very familiar, i to bought a brake and went nuts, very handy for the ali panels and made my own shroud as well. Can you register with non standard cam, over here it as to be stock standard. I will be interested to hear how your cam swap changes your motor, ie how much extra KW and if it gives a lumpy idle. Keep updates coming mate and pictures.

sorry for the delay my auro sparky was pretty relaxed when doing mine but he was cheap and did a good job ,, car starts and runs my wiring loom thru sideshow had no tach output had to buy another module to get the tack to work just a few jobs and the body can go back on next cheers dean

i think i need to spend more time working on the cobra and less time going fishing sparky has finished his bit now time for me to pull my finger out and get stuck back into it ive been pretty slack the last few months .

They are from 2015 Ford Festiva, but heavily modified mounts and no rails, they are very comfortable.
