This ain’t right
I hate to be political on the forum but you’re the only Australians that I know and it seems important enough:

It is right.
There is a cultural difference here. We prefer the advice of our Chief Medical Officer rather than ...
What pregnant woman wouldn't adhere to medical based instructions on the issue.

Peter is correct. There are specific laws covering planned protests against covid restrictions, laws that everyone is aware of.
Victoria, and in particular the greater Melbourne area, is struggling to contain the pandemic. Some do not recognise how serious the situation is.
Cheers,
Glen

How each country deals with the COVID situation is up to them. Australia has done a pretty good job overall and they have put in place laws to help keep it that way. It’s not easy but the numbers show which countries are doing it right or wrong. This is not rocket science on how to curb and hopefully contain the virus and keep in mind this is not going away anytime soon. We are over six months in and you can expect this will continue for another twelve at least so the numbers today will be a lot higher then. Vaccines only do so much and are never 100%, plus there are supply issues and some people who will refuse it altogether.

I personally wouldn't have been able to arrest this person (pregnant or not, woman or man).
My values wouldn't have allowed me to...
Not trying to change anyone's mind.
Feel free to pile on and flame away...

That whole clip was staged imho.
Even though the police have agreed it happened it's just a stunt to try and stop people protesting this weekend.

I don't quite follow that. It may well have been staged (note the comments of the person behind the phone/camera) but I doubt it was staged by the police.

And now you know why so many people want to come to America. Despite all of our restrictions, we are still the freest country the planet has ever seen.

Not everyone agrees.

If they're listing Hong Kong as top ten, I see an issue right there.
Protest the ccp right now and see how fast you get arrested

The Hong Kong data is from 2019, so data is accurate for it's time.

Good point. There's always a lag between measuring, compilation and reporting, and Hong Kong would certainly be a good example of how things can quickly change.

Notice how Australia is listed as #5. Isn't this event occurring in Australia?
And socialist Canada is listed as #4?
Somehow, I don't think that list means much.

The US is still seen as the land of opportunity. People want to come here. I think they also want to go other place like the UK, Canada and Australia.
If I could choose where I was born I might like to try Canada if not for the cold and the fact that all of my family pretty much is here or near here.

I agree with Modena, this is a Cobra forum, not a political platform. Politics and religion are best discussed elsewhere, not something I'm looking to enlighten myself with here, nor does it enhance my cobra. Further more, in todays digital age reality can be manipulated to portray curcumstances to reflect someones agendas rather than reality. So, we all need to vet what we are being fed via the media and elsewhere to verify we're not being duped for someones agenda. It's easy to present something out of context or for someone to portray infrequent incidents as the norm and vise versa the norm as infrequent. We all need to do our due diligence before we pass something along as fact or we are not being responsible.
