Default Queensland Club meeting - I'm legitimate!!!

I finally rejoined the Qld Cobra Club today while I was down at Sanctuary Cove for the club's monthly breakfast. It turned out to be a great day:
1. The car didn't do anything to disgrace itself on it's first public outing with the club. I was wondering if some people might have been a little bewildered by my interpretation of a Cobra, but it seemed to be pretty well received.
2. I no longer have to suffer the "When's your car going to be finished?" taunts.
3. I won the club raffle!!!
4. My Dad came down in the car with me. We had a great drive down there, Dad met some new friends, and then we cruised around the countryside in perfect Queensland winter sunshine.

Gotta love these Cobras.....

What??..gawdd!!...You mean they let ya re-join...just goes to show..they aren't such a bad bunch if they let people like you and me in the club.

My first wife woke me this morning cuz i told her I wanted to go. The dredded flu with a nasty cough ( caught in Melbourne) prevented me going but I dont feel too bad now I know you fixed..ermm...won the raffle.

Bet they were all hanging over your fenders tho craig.

You all take care

Hi Les - sorry about the cold. At least you did the right thing and STAYED THE HELL AWAY while you're coughing and sneezing!!! Hope you get better soon.

It was weird - there was a bit of a crowd around it when I pulled up. Dad and I removed the whole lift-off front to make it easier for people to see things. While everyone was keen to hear all about the car, Scott was nowhere to be seen. His big opportunity to take the credit for all the work that he'd done, and he stayed at the other end of the cars. Now we know that Scott isn't the shy, retiring type. He must have been staying out of the picture to let me do the talking, figuring that I'd want to discuss "my baby" with everyone.

I'm of the opinion that I don't care who has their name on the rego papers. The design, planning and execution of the car is what impresses me. Scott and I spent many hours discussing which direction I wanted to take with the car, and I had a few firm ideas on how I pictured the car in my mind. He would then either agree with my ideas, or come up with a valid reason why NOT to do it my way. Scott turned those conversations into a complete vehicle. He did all the fabrication work, and I wanted all the Cobra guys to know that. I hope I can put a bit of work his way from people that come up to talk to me about my car.

No wonder that QLD cobra club is so big.

They must take in any old riff-raff off the street and give them a membership

Default riff-raff ??

Hehehe..yeah right Jason.

I was looking forward to going too. I really dont mind munching a healthy brekky (none of that maccas stuff), whilst overlooking multi million dollar cruisers in a marina.

Then there are the nubile suntanned beauties wandering about exposing all manner of their bits to the sun.

Now..where can ya find that in Melbourne heh?.. Visit the casino??..Nuh..the river flows upside... and most of the ladies there are so wrapped up to survive the cold and wet, you cant make out if they are really female or just pretend female .

Craig, It's a pity Scott didnt get some mileage out of your car but then I guess he was just playing kewl, knowing that most cobra owners would know he did a lot of the work.

The man is certainly talented and whats more, an honest operator..rare to find that in one package.

I gotta go back to bed...sick as a dog I am. I suspect that Melbourne mob deliberately infected me with some derivitive of the SARS virus.

You all take care

HEhehe..yeah right Les.

I'm telling Bernie on you arnt nuffin'rong wiff maccas mate.

I didn't think they sold it that far north anyway.

Those multi million dollar cruisers you spy in your little marina actually belong to the to rich McDonalds owner from down south.

And those nubile suntanned babes are up holidaying from Melbourne because they have already had they fun in our snowfields (I'll expain what they are at another time).

We all know you B/Benders are a little upset because you missout on the 2 best cobra driving seasons in the year (Autum and spring). You poor buggers either get 'bake your scone' scorching or 'grab your floaties' the wets are coming.

And as for the pretend females....you have us mixed up with Sydney You must be sick you poor thing. Those pretend females can do that to a bloke (best see a Doc, I think).

Were are all fighting fit down here. Must be the clear crisp air (none of that humid lung clogging crap you fellows have to suck in).

OK that will do for now...bed time....

Hey Jason,

Bedtime - do you have a bed out there at work!!

Hope 'wtcobra' is not reading this over there in Indiana. I will have to explain that we are not all mad over here in Australia when there.

Occassionally, we must be serious and leave the boat in the marina and the Cobra in the shed and catch a ride on a kangaroo to work to earn a dollar.

Thanks for posting the photo of the little red rocket I am getting a few emails and bit of flack. Just tell them that it was there one morning when I arrived at work.

The little kids love it and we all know that old saying ..."where there are young kids there are young mums"..

Now I will really cop some flack getting out of here

See you

Bernie

Day shift this week Bernie

That was me dribbling a bit if crap before hitting the sack at home last night. (if I was at work, the crap would be flowing all night).

I've been having a few "Telstra" related problems with the line at home so Internet usage has been way down from home base lately. That's why I have to make up for it a work.

But that's due to get fixed shortly
