I wish it was on TV here in america land .......
If you guys could get enough cars and money you could try for a few exhibition laps before the big race.
Always wondered how a Cobra would look coming down through the Dipper, or the speed it could reach on Conrod and hearing it hard on the gas up through The Cutting. Would make a real good video ....
Imagine the Ford crowd up on the mountain .....
whooo hoooo gooooo Holden & Greg Murphy (exPat NZer) more whooo hoooo !!
hmmm a 5/5 split on Holden & Ford from the shootout. Should be a good race
I wish it was on TV here in america land .......

Interesting race. As much as I wanted to see the Fords get up and win, Murphy and Kelly were just too good. They had about the only car at the finish with straight panels!!!
It would have been interesting if Skaife had been allowed to stay out...

You guys really have some great racing down there. Sure beats NASCAR, but our World of Outlaws and USAC sprints are pretty exciting, too. Used to watch the V8 Supercar races all the time on Speedvision last year, but it's harder to find your races due to NASCAR monoplizing the air waves in the US.
750hp, two for Ford on the podium isn't bad nor is six out of the top ten. And Marcos is still in the points lead, so things aren't going too bad for Ford, particularly after last year. The balance of this season should prove to be one of the best as I'm sure Holden won't roll over and play dead nor will Ford let them pull out an overall points win without a major battle.
I worked with one of your legends while at Ford's KarKraft; good old Allen Moffatt. He took one of the '69 T/A Mustangs home along with one of our best wrenches, Indy John Mulrine, and did pretty well . . . an understatement. How's Allen been doing lately? I saw him doing some announcing, but that's been it.

I spoke to Allan a few months back. He is well, has been doing the corporate speaking thing, using his name to a brand of tyres. I havea '69 mach 1 which is my interst in Moffat. I understand he is starting a web site to sell memorabilia and clothing, www.allanmoffat. com.au.

Yeah - Moffat did pretty well in his day How long did you work at KK for? A collector / diehard enthusiast has been methodically buying up all the historic touring cars over here. He also has an impressive collection of Porsches, a genuine Cobra, GT40, etc, etc. http://www.fouronthefloor.com.au/garage/garage.html Bit of an eye-opener!!!
The good thing is that he makes his cars available for historic racing weekends.

Craig,
Although I worked for Ford seven years, only spent a short time full at KarKraft in '67/68, but worked with the guys there until Henry II pulled the plug on the racing program. Started my company AVC Engineering which became ProtoFab and was eventually absorbed into the Roush empire. We built stock cars, a couple of Vettes for John Greenwood and several TransAm Mustangs.
Glad to hear Allan is doing well. The GT40 Allan has is in the Gulf Racing graphics, which reminds me of two friends, John Wyer and his engineer John Horsman.

Hi guys,
Hope this doesn't look like spamming, but I saw your Bathurst thread and thought you might like to know Allan's website is up and running at www.allanmoffat.com.au
Hope you enjoy it.
